Ice Cube talks Dr. Dre and N.W.A.

With his latest album, I Am The West, set for release later this summer, Ice Cube has decided to look back over his career. With everything Ice Cube has accomplished, he will likely always be best-known for his split from N.W.A. When the time came to sign contracts, Ice Cube felt something fishy and he decided not to sign.

Independent, Ice Cube found himself feuding with N.W.A., primarily, Eazy-E. On the outside looking in, it appeared as if the feud was between all of N.W.A. and Ice Cube. However, Cube said this was not the case. He said he and Dr. Dre remained friends, but they were no longer close.

On his first post-N.W.A. album, Amerikkka's Most Wanted, Ice Cube wanted to have some beats from Dr. Dre. Cube said the deal was close to going through when it was blocked by Eazy-E and Jerry Heller. Ice Cube also confirmed plans of working on a biopic for N.W.A.
