Having been out of the spotlight for a few months now, Eminem is back on top of the headlines. Recently, Rolling Stones magazine did a feature on the Detroit rapper. Counting down several members of the rap community, Eminem was named the king of hip hop.
The list of rappers included Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and other big-time hip hop artists. Above all the rappers mentioned was Eminem and Rolling Stones says rightfully so. Being a white rapper in a predominantly black game, Eminem has still managed to be a legend.
Rolling Stones says their list has nothing to do with abilities and even less about status. Instead, it is all about the numbers. When it comes down to the numbers: album sales, YouTube hits, etc., Eminem has more of it than any other artist.
Because of this, Slim Shady was named the king of hip hop by Rolling Stones.
