When Roc-A-Fella Records expanded, they signed a number of artists from Philadelphia. Freeway was among the artists from Philly added to the label. Spending nearly a decade with the label, Freeway benefited from the Roc-A-Fella name.

However, over the past three years, Freeway has been on his independent grind. There have been rumors of him joining several labels. A few years ago, it was said that Freeway had joined Cash Money Records.

The demise of Roc-A-Fella Records was one of the most-publicized in hip hop history. Freeway spoke on things from his point of view with MTV. During the "Best of Both Worlds" tour, Freeway said he knew their was tension in the air.

It was no secret about the beef brewing between Jay-Z and R. Kelly. However, the feud within the Roc was kept under wraps. Damon Dash and Jay-Z were also having issues and things came to a head during this tour. Freeway revealed he was not initially a part of the tour, but after speaking with Jay-Z, in his office, he was added to the tour.

Freeway said Jay-Z told him and Young Chris things would not be the same after the tour.
