Ever since July, Jay-Z has been a little busier than usual. Last month, he released his Kanye West-assisted album, Watch the Throne. Right after the release of his album, Jay-Z began preparing for Roc Nation's release of J. Cole's Cole World: The Sideline Story. Around the same time, Beyonce made her pregnancy, with Jay-Z, public.
Everyone has wanted to hear from Jay-Z, for various reasons. In spite of this, Jay-Z has become harder to reach. Last night, Jay-Z hosted a charity carnival event in New York City. Taking a break from the festivities, Jay-Z spoke about the things going on in his life. Jay-Z discussed his new projects with E!
Speaking on his baby with Beyonce, Jay-Z said he was excited, as this is his first child. Jay-Z also spoke on an email he recieved and it received it warmly. The email said some people climb the ladder, others grab it, and others pull more people up the ladder. At the end of the email, the person said Jay-Z was one who pulled other people up the ladder.
In 2008, Jay-Z made it no secret he was politically active. Despite his immense wealth, Jay-Z bucked the trend and remained a Democrat. Jay-Z not only endorsed Barack Obama for president, he also held early voting at his concerts, which were promotional for Obama. When Barack Obama was elected as president, Jay-Z and Beyonce attended his inauguration and performed. Things were full of hope when Obama became president, but things have not gone so smoothly over the past 32 months.
While many Obama supporters have turned their backs, Jay-Z has remained true. Still supporting the president, Jay-Z said President Obama was dealt a bad hand. Jay-Z said he still thinks Barack Obama is the man for the job. The hip hop president also pointed out how Obama took over the United States in the middle of a bad economy. Saying a person would not be given anything they could not handle, Jay-Z said the president must really be special.
