The relationship between Cam'ron and Jay-Z has been rocky for well over a decade. But, during the height of the Roc-A-Fella dynasty, the label was focused on expansion. Being from Harlem, Cam'ron was friends with Damon Dash. Their friendship prompted Dash to sign the entire Diplomat Records to Roc-A-Fella.

Cam'ron had a buzz in New York City and with Roc-A-Fella behind him, he could easily take things to the top. In 2002, Cam'ron did just that with his Come Home With Me album. While Jay-Z appeared on the album, there was no friendship built. As Jay-Z was preparing to retire from the game, Damon Dash appointed Cam'ron to an executive role at the Roc.

When Jay-Z returned, the gloves were off and his dislike of Cam'ron became public. For six years, The Diplomats have been taking shots at Jay-Z. However, when Cam'ron and company began internally feuding, Cam'ron said he understood Jay-Z's point of view. Cam'ron said he respected Jay-Z because he knows how to get to the money and even said he would not mind collaborating with Jay-Z.

But, when The Diplomats reunited, Cam'ron was back to taking shots at Jay-Z.
