After his "Crank Dat" hit faded from the radio, Soulja Boy became a joke in the hip hop world. His lack of lyrical ability disgusted most fans. Soulja Boy, still, continued to win over young fans, leading to a feud with Ice T. Veterans, 50 Cent and Kanye West, rose to the defense of the young rapper.

Soulja Boy was taunted for the low sales of his second album and the failure of his "Birdwalk" single. However, Soulja Boy soon proved critics wrong when he returned with "Turn My Swag On" and his crossover hit, "Kiss Me Thru the Phone." Both songs made it to the top ten and saved Soulja Boy from being a one hit wonder.

Three years later, Soulja Boy is still receiving flack from the people, but it is now stemming from his negative comments about the armed forces. Back in 2009, Snoop Dogg featured Soulja Boy on his popular album, Malice N Wonderland. Their collaboration, "Pronto," went on to become a big hit and proved to critics Soulja Boy could actually rap.

With Soulja Boy still receiving bad press, Snoop Dogg gives him a co-sign. In Soulja Boy's upcoming movie, the young rapper speaks of his troubles. Snoop Dogg received similar bad press to Soulja Boy when he was rising in the rap game.
