Founded in 2000, Trill Entertainment quickly established a distribution deal with Asylum Records and released Webbie's debut album, Savage Life. The album is primarily known for the 2005 summer hit, "Give Me That."

Trill Entertainment is one of the most-recognized Southern hip hop record labels. The late Pimp C, of the legendary UGK, founded the label. Currently, however, Trill is owned by Marcus Roach and Melvin Vernell, who now operate the label out of Atlanta. Following years on Asylum Records, Trill Entertainment is leaving their longtime label home for a new distribution deal with Universal Music Group's Fontana Distribution.

The head of Fontana said he is looking forward to helping Trill build a national powerhouse. For 2012, the label has releases from Webbie and Lil' Boosie, in addition to their Trill Films division.
