Zynga separating itself from Facebook

Along with being a great way to connect with friends and family, Facebook grew popular because of the games. The social networking site has been partnered with Zynga for some time. For those not familiar with Zynga, it is the company behind CafeWorld, FarmVille, and MafiaWars, along with many other popular Facebook games.

While Facebook has undergone a series of changes over the past few months, one thing has remained the same. The members of Facebook can still play their games, the way they have been already. Zynga has built a large following from their Facebook users. Much like the popular social networking site, Zynga is also changing.

Zynga is preparing to primarily host their games through their site, leaving Facebook. The news seems to have gone over well with Facebook, as their director of games was in attendance when Zynga made the announcement. Zynga has dubbed their new project, Project Z. Through Project Z, Zynga will allow a Facebook connect, which allows fans to import their Facebook friends who play the same games, so they will not have to re-add them on Zynga.

Along with the move from Facebook, Zynga will launch some new games, too, such as CastleVille.
