50 Cent accused of Stealing 2007's "I Get Money" beat

Right when it appeared as if 2007 would be a bad year for 50 Cent, he turned things around when he released "I Get Money." The song was an anthem during the summer and kept 50 Cent on the radio. Diddy and Jay-Z even joined 50 on the remix because it was so popular.

Anytime people call Curtis a flop, 50 Cent often points out how "I Get Money" was a top 20 hit without any promotion. The song was always given credit for its simplistic originality, but it appears as if that is not the case. An Atlanta rapper said he paid for the beat and he is suing for it.

Tyrone "Caliber" Simmons is arguing that he paid for all rights to the beat. Once 50 Cent heard the song, he decided that he wanted it. Simmons owned the rights to it, but 50 Cent decided to use the song anyway. Because of this, Simmons is suing Aftermath Entertainment, G-Unit Records, and Shady Records for copyright infringement.

Simmons' lawyer said this kind of infringement is unfair and will not be tolerated. They are hoping to make an example out of 50 Cent for the frequent copyright infringement in rap music.
