Hottie of the Week: Sparrow

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Life is too short to not pursue your dreams. If one person realizes this, Sparrow does. She has not been modeling terribly long, but she has been making major moves. While she enjoys being at home, Sparrow also loves traveling the world.

Sparrow is also honest about her ambitions. Yes, she does love modeling, but she is looking forward to the payoff. The goal of most people in the entertainment industry is to eventually become rich from their craft. Sparrow is no different, she is simply honest enough to admit it.

There are very few people with the ambition and the drive of Sparrow, who models for Servin' These Streeets. Being a rising brand, within herself, and working with a rising brand has helped Sparrow become a well-known figure in select areas. While the local stardom is nice, Sparrow is hoping for international fame, wating to grace pages in several magazines. At the rate she is going, she will soon be featured on several print magazines.

Hottie of the Week: Wendy Chaney

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Growing up, Wendy Chaney knew she was going to become a model, as her family always encouraged her. Wendy said she has always had the "model mentality." Having the background in modeling, Wendy is trying to take things to the next level.

Wendy Chaney currently works with Atlanta-based Suga Cane Entertainment, so she is at many Atlanta events. At these events, Wendy is hoping to become known with the patrons. So far, she has done well with the company.

Despite having such a busy schedule, Wendy found the time to discuss her career, and her future plans, with Hip Hop Vibe.

Read the entire interview below:

Is modeling something you always wanted to do or something you just ended up doing?
Well, modeling was something that I always wanted to do. Growing up my family use to tell me “Wendy do ur model walk” and I use to walk around the house like a little diva hands on the hips getting my signature walk right lol. Its in my blood you can say.

In the future, do you also want to do some acting?
Most definitely, I can see myself doin a little something something. When I was sin the 8th grade, I tried out for a performance arts school for dance and acting and I got in for acting but at the end decided I didn’t want to go to the school. So if it comes around im open to it.

Where is your favorite place to do work?
Where ever im going to SHINE.

How long have you been working with Suga Cane Entertainment?
I have been with SCE from the start June of 2011. Ashley came to me one day and was letting me know of a company she started and she said she needed models that were hungry and ready to work. (She asked the right one, I was born ready).

Have you been featured in any videos?
I have been a couple videos (waiting for the big one with Chris Brown)

What has been the most-exciting part of your career, so far?
Meeting new people, we get to interact and network with a lot of people. Also getting my name out there; doing something that lov and enjoy is a blessing because its not a job to me its one of my passions.

How do you deal with all the stress that comes along with this lifestyle?
Really there is no stress AT THE MOMENT. I think I'm doing pretty good right now, juggling everything else that I have going on. I try my best to stay organized and just plan things out ahead of time (I HATE LAST MINUTE STUFF). But, once things starts getting a little more hectic, then I say its time to hire a personal assistant.

Outside of modeling, what is your favorite activity?
Hmmmm my favorite activity, I don’t think I have one, I like to get into everything when I can. TIME is important to me. you can never take it back so spending time with my loved ones is what you would find me doing outside of modeling.

If you were not modeling, what would you be doing?
This a good question. If I was not modeling I would STILL DOING MAKEUP (yes I’m a MUA also) or I would be a nurse. I know your thinking like modeling nursing MUA, those are my passions. I love it. Modeling, because I get to express myself in so many ways and some and b a DIVA lol MUA, I love the art of it and making people look and feel beautiful. And nurse, I like helping and taking care of people (that’s why one day I'm going to make a wonderful wife).

Hottie of the Week: Ashley Salazar

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Much more than a pretty face, Ashley Salazar has big things planned. Aside from her modeling and acting career, Salazar owns her own photography company.

Ashley Salazar has had a unique background, as she spent time in the armed forces. It is rare to find a model with such a background. Ashley feels this, and her being a mother, is what separates her from many other models.

Currently based in St. Louis, Ashley Salazar has been featured in various projects. Her work has appeared in television commercials and magazines, among other products.

Despite being on billboards, doing runways, and being in movies, Ashley Salazar a mother and a fighter. She is also an amateur MMA fighter.

Recently, Ashley Salazar celebrated the one-year anniversary of her website, http://www.missoohlalaa.com/

. Ashley Salazar talked about this and a number of other topics with Hip Hop Vibe.

Read the entire interview below:

How long have you been modeling?
When I was younger, I did a few test shoots, but I didn't really start part time/full time modeling until 2007.

When did you first appear in television commercials?
My first big job that I landed was back in 2007 with Toni's International Models, one of my modeling agencies here from St. Louis. It was a television commercial for Rent N Roll.

Did modeling lead you to start your own photography company?
Yes, modeling did lead to me starting photography. At the time, I was working as a talent agent for Toni's and was in charge of the reconstruction of the high fashion board. I had all these great models coming to me that I saw real potential talent in. Many either didn't have the funds for expensive photo shoots or had low quality images, so I couldn't book them with as an agent.

One day, I just asked my fiancee, who had been shooting professionally for ten years, if I could shoot some of my models and have him set me up on the basics and let me run wild. Well, nevertheless to say, at the end of that day he looked at the images with me and told me that I had the eye and not to stop, so I never put the camera down and now I love it just as much as being in front of the camera myself.

Have you had many clients for the photography company?'
Yes, I have worked with a wide range of clients since I first started shooting out of the living room wall in my house to onto now my second photography studio at the Historical Lemp Brewery. My clients have been everything from families, models, corporations, magazines, many musicians, and more. My studio name is New Karma Studios, big lover of Karma.

You say your goal is to become a Playboy playmate, can you tell us more about that?
I have been trying to become apart of the Playboy family for about two and half years now. I've submitted to them online a few times and they have also contacted me on their own, but nothing ever came from it, besides many back-and-forth emails and phone calls.

In December 2010 I competed in Playboy's Miss Social and placed fourth in the finals. I then competed again and made it as a finalist in June in hopes of winning the title during my birthday month, but I didn't win. I've supported many girls who have ran in the competition, and personally even helped a few of them win their titles by devoting many hours to promoting them.

Recently, I also did charity work with Playboy as a Playboy Girl of Golf in the Los Angeles tournament. The reason I went to LA, about a month ago, in the first place was to set up a test shoot with contributing Playboy photographer, Josh Ryan, at my own expense. Being from St. Louis, there is no Playboy here, nor any photographers whom have an established - liaison relationship with them. Because of this, it's been very hard to be noticed by Playboy even to be a regular Playboy model, not just a Playmate.

To point blank answer "Why do I want to be a Playmate," well why not?!

I'm a mom and its ten times harder for us in the modeling industry, it seems, or at least from my experiences. I know I have what it takes to be a Playmate, I'm sexy, classy, full of amazing curves plus I have the brains, savvy, and support of my friends, family and fans behind me. I know I have what it takes to be in Playboy and represent the brand well. Honestly, I personally think they should start their own Special Editions that just features moms, the market for it is surely there.

It sadness me so much, nowadays, when all I see is the mass majority of women in Playboy who aren't moms, yet they claim to have the most beautiful women in the world. To me the most beautiful thing in this world is the creation of life and being able to create life, so when did all of a sudden moms become not so beautiful? If you do the research and look up how many Playmates were mothers at the time of their publication, the list is small, tiny in fact. I want to become a Playmate more then anything to break that stigma not only for myself, but for all the American hard working model moms out there. Lastly, my desire to work with Playboy doesn't end at being a Playmate, I want to produce and shoot the Playmates myself one day.

Can you tell us about your time in the military?
Oh ,wow, where to start, six years of service is hard to cram into just a few sentences. Well, when I was in the Air Force, I earned two national Radiology Registries as a Radiology Technologist and Mammography Technologist. I also performed over 800 military special ceremonies and funeral services while being a team member for Keesler AFB and a team flight leader for Scott AFB. In addition to all this, I served as a Security Forces Officer, Base CPR Instructor, coached Volleyball for the Scott AFB Medical Squadron, and was a goalie for the Kessler AFB base Soccer team.

In 2005, I went through Hurricane Katrina and remained on duty at Kessler AFB, and after losing my home I was relocated to Scott AFB and then was honorably discharged in 2008. Lastly, during my service, I was recognized for many medals, awards, such as BTZ, Diagnostic Imaging, Airman of the Year (AMC), Humanitarian medal, and Achievement Medal.

Following your service, you moved to St. Louis?
I was relocated here after I lost my home in 2005. I chose to remain in the area for school and because I had extended family members in the area.

How do you like St. Louis?
It's alright, I have some great friends here that are everything to me, but in general this city seems to not like me much. It's not my home town (Chicago is) , I've experienced times where I sit and wonder why do I try to hard to support the talent here and make more relationships with people who don't appreciate what I can bring to the table. Overall, the city itself is very historic and has some amazing places to shoot at, but California keeps calling my name.

Do you think it is a good place for you to build your career?
Well, of course, if you can't make it in your own town I don't see how you can make it anywhere these days.

How do you compare St. Louis to places like Miami, New York, and Chicago?
Well I've never been to the first two, but I have been to other big cities, like Dallas and Los Angeles. Our market here is existent, but it will only stay that way or grow bigger if the talent in our city wants it to and starts helping each other out more. This is what I have been trying to do for the past year and half now with my digital entertainment website, http://www.missoohlalaa.com/.

What magazines have you been featured in?
Model Maze Magazine (Cover), Fighters Only Magazine, Full Throttle, Midwest Magazine, Alive Magazine, Stunner Baby Magazine (Cover), Macho Rhino Online Mens Magazine, WWE Magazine, Co-Existence Magazine (Cover), Kamboom Magazine, COED Magazine (Miss COED of the Day), Super Models Magazine (Cover), Miss Ooh La Laa Magazine, honestly there has been many digital write up's about me, sometimes I don't even know about them until I Google my name. Those are the ones that have meant the most to me so far.

Have you starred in any TV projects, high or low profile?
Yes, I have my first independent film in which I play Sarah, as the lead female role, which will be released soon, viewers can check out the film at: www.farmthemovie.com and I have worked as a Strikeforce Ring Girl which appeared on Showtime. My Rent & Roll commercial and a few other projects as well.

How do you juggle your busy career and being a mother?
I just do, my daughter knows and see's how hard I work everyday to make opportunities possible for us. I make her watch me when I photo shop images sometimes of models because I don't want her growing up thinking that women look like they all do in the magazines. I also talk to her about most everything that a child her age can understand so she knows why mommy has to go on trips to places like LA and other areas I go for work. She calls herself little Miss Ooh La Laa and one day I hope that I can build this empire up for her and hand it over if she wants to run it or at least give her more than what I had growing up.

Who, or what, has served as your inspiration?
My daughter, fiancee, my muse(s) Tara and (R.I.P. Mason P. Cummins), my best friends, my family who I actually still talk to (I come from a very broken home), my fans who never stop believing in me and smack me back into reality when I second guess myself and, actually, my haters, because they make me grind harder and force me to learn new ways of connecting to my fan base which they try to destroy on a daily basis, it seems like.

A few other key individuals as an artist Pink, Marilyn Manson, Marilyn Monroe, Lady Gaga, Esther Lin, Mick Gleissner, Kingston O'Nasty, Hugh Hefner, RuPaul, Annie Leibovitz, Dorothea Lange, Demi Moore, Selena, Jennifer Lopez, Arny Freytag, Sally Mann, Jill Greenberg, and Cindy Sherman just to name a few.

I want to say thank you for the opportunity to be featured within your magazine and thank you to all my supporters for without you all I am nothing.

Hottie of the Week: Britney

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Despite being a new company, Suga Cane Entertainment has been making moves. The company is steadily signing more talent and landing more events. Because of this, more models are flocking to the company.

For a little over a month, Britney has been signed to the Suga Cane Entertainment company. Despite not being their incredibly long, she has already been booked for several jobs. Britney is confident in the growth of the company, as it has already grown.

Britney discussed a bit of her background and her time with the company in an exclusive interview with Hip Hop Vibe.

Read the entire interview below:

When did you link up with Suga Cane Entertainment?

Explain your experience with the company so far.
It's been great. Even though Suga Cant Entertainment is a new company, Ive already gotten a few cool jobs. It's a great way for me to gain more exposure so Im loving it. There will be a lot of upcoming gigs for all of the Suga Cane models. Soon everyone will know about us.

For the most part, how have things gone for you?
Really good, the company is still growing and so am I. It'll only get better from here.

Do you ever fall victim to being star struck?
Never, I've been meeting celebrities for as long as I can remember so it's nothing! I view celebrities as just another person who just happens to be in the spotlight. Money or not, you will always just be a person. That's just how you have to look at it.

How do you separate professional from personal?
Work is work. I'm about business, nothing more nothing less. Whenever I go on a job, its always professional. I never let the fact that I'm around a certain celebrity or working with a certain company get to my head. That's the quickest way to get caught up in this business. Modeling is a job, it's not my life.

When did you first begin modeling?
Just recently. Ive been an aspiring actress for about eight years, so modeling just kind of fell into place. Atlanta is the perfect place for it. Since I love the Atlanta nightlife, meeting new people, and getting paid, why not model?

Do you feel as if you are born to entertain?
Yes. All my life I've been entertaining whether it was singing, acting, or dancing. Now modeling! I do it all.

Does working in the nightlife make you dislike it on a personal level?
I will never dislike it, but too much of it can be a little overwhelming. Now that I model, I dont party as much on my own time. I get enough of it from work, but whenever I do go out its always a good time.

Has your work for a few of the Atlanta clubs turned you into a local celebrity?
Not yet. I have a lot more work to do and a lot more exposure and respect to gain in this industry. It will come one day though. It doesn't come overnight which is what a lot of aspiring models expect. It's a lot of work to be put in, and you have to start small before you can be big.

Has living in Charlottle helped your career advance forward?
Yes and no. Because I am living in Charlotte I was able to start a fan base and learn new thing to advance into the best artist I can be. But, at the same time, my carrer would have taken off sooner if I were in a bigger city.

Hottie of the Week: Tarina

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Among the newer faces on the Charlotte, NC entertainment scene is Tarina, she has linked up with Suga Cane Entertainment. She is trying to take her career to the next level. Tarina has modeled for a couple of magazines, already.

Tarina came across Suga Cane Entertainment on Facebook and began working in February. While her career is just starting off, she has already had a number of adventures. Recently, Tarina discussed all of this with Hip Hop Vibe.

Read the entire Tarina interview below:

How would you describe you career, at this point?
I would say this is just the beginning.

How long have you been working for Suga Cane Entertainment?
We came across each other on Facebook back in February. From there, we just began working.

Tell us a little bit about your time with Suga Cane?
Thus far, it has been awesome. The CEO keeps everyone, including myself, updated with new events and by me being one of the models who does not reside where the actual agency does, its very difficult for me to go back and forth to the events, so they are very understanding when I am not able to attend any events.

Thus far, how has your experience been?
Things have been going kind of "rocky" trying to book great gigs. Finding the best of the best photographers is hard work, I've dealt with individuals who does not know a thing about what they are trying to do, but it's always a "well lesson learned" for the most part! I am just going to continue to work and fight for what I want, which is to become a well respected black model.

Have been a victim of falling star struck?
No (laughs).

Do you have trouble separating the business from the personal?
I leave the personal at the door and then I begin the business.

How long have you been modeling?
Actually, I have not been modeling that long. I began when I relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina from Flint, Michigan. For as long as I can remember, I have been told that I should model and that I have "the look." I never really paid attention to those comments until I came to Charlotte and I needed something to do. It was then when I decided I should model, I know I can do it.

Can you tell us about your love of entertaining?
I feel I was born to both entertain and teach.

How do you feel about the nightlife, seeing how you work in it?
I still enjoy it a lot .As a model, your life seems to never stop to get a break, but I have a personal life also, to where I can sleep when I want, party or even if its just spending some time with loved ones.

Has all this modeling turned you into a local celebrity, of sorts?
No, but hopefully it soon will.

Hottie of the Week: Shauni

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

The face of Shauni may not look familiar, but it will in the very near future. Already, Shauni has appeared in several high-profile music videos, which made it to television. A little over a year ago, she linked with a new company and is ready to take things to the next level.

Shauni knows her future is bright and she has major plans. Recently, she discussed her future plans with Hip Hop Vibe.

Read the entire interview below:

How do you feel about your career currently?
I feel like I'm finally making progress. I've dealt with alot of flaky people in the industry who damn near promised me different events in which I didn't get a chance to pursue them.

When did you link up with Suga Cane Entertainment?
I want to say it was at the end of May.

Explain your experience with the company so far.
Its definitely been a learning experience lol but a fun one based on the fact that we all have built relationships with each other. If we hadn't some of our most skeptical moments would've made it difficult to keep the faith.

For the most part, how have things gone for you?
They've gone pretty awesome! I've networked with some great people, attended a lot events, and got a chance to be exposed to the some powerful people in the industry, which in itself is amazing since we are just getting started. I believe this is good for me.

Do you ever fall victim to being star struck?
Not yet; I have come across some people who've recognized me from either "The Car & Bike Show" or the clubs we work at. I'm pretty humble, so when I finally get my article published with you guys, I can get a little star struck. lol

How do you separate professional from personal?
I try to keep my emotions out of my professional life, because if I don't, I would handle certain situations totally different.

When did you first begin modeling?
I started modeling in the 11th grade. I was an officer in JR. Council, we had to put on this event called "The Show" and every since then I wanted to walk around made up in heels..

Do you feel as if you are born to entertain?
Of course (laughs). I feel as if I don't fit in with "Regular People" I sing, write, act, dance, and model. I have nothing in common with anyone who honestly feels like a 9-5 for life is the greatest thing ever, I would rather die trying to fulfill my dreams than be stressed out being someone's corporate bitch, I'm just saying.

Does working in the nightlife make you dislike it on a personal level?
No, I actually look forward to it. We work for some pretty hot clubs and to be able to walk in like we run it (we do) is always fun. VIP sections & free bottles.. I will always love it!

Has your work for a few of the Atlanta clubs turned you into a local celebrity?
Somewhat. People see me or hit me on Facebook and Twitter just to ask if I'll be at Door 44, Essos, or Josephine Lounge all the time. Guys mainly ask because they feel its a way to get a me (laughs). It really isn't, but I guess harmless flirting (Promoting) isn't a bad thing to keep my growing fanbase up!

Hottie of the Week: Ashley Coburn

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

It is often said that a person can do anything they set their mind to. This statement is true, but the part left out is the difficulties. The difficulties is what keeps many people from accomplishing their dreams.

For the one-hundred people who give up, there is one person who continues to push. Ashley Coburn is that one person. One year ago, Coburn launched her company, Suga Cane Entertainment, and has not looked back.

Now the head of her own modeling/promotions company, she also serves as a model, herself. In only a year's worth of time, she has become one of the more well-known up-and-comers in the game.

Recently, she discussed her rise and new projects with Hip Hop Vibe.

Read the entire interview below:

How do you feel about your career currently?
Modeling is a career that I always wanted to do from the traveling to meeting new people, to networking..I LOVE IT.

When did you start Suga Cane Entertainment?
I actually linked with with my bussiness partner, BJ from Rep1, we sat down and talked about coming up with a company for upcoming models who have the drive for modeling and thats how we came up with Suga Cane Entertaiment.

Explain your experience with the company so far.
The experience is amazing, I love the shows, and the models.

For the most part, how have things gone for you?
Things have been good, just finished my photoshoot with Dash, for Kim Kardashian's summer collection in Miami.

Do you ever fall victim to being star struck?
Huh?

How do you separate professional from personal?
Just keep personal way from professional. You don't want nobody in your personal life, try your best not to discuss any personal situation in your professional life.

When did you first begin modeling?
I first began modeling when I was three years old. I started in a Baby Gerber commercial in Panama (the country) and from there my mom put me in every modeling event.

Do you feel as if you are born to entertain?
YES !!! I mean I'm funny, when I'm in that runway I feel free I feel alive.

Does working in the nightlife make you dislike it on a personal level?
Well, yes just a little because I know I know a lot of guys don't want their women out in the clubs or guys all over his women and my grandmother always told me that a young woman shouldn't be out late at night (laughs). I'm young, I'm single I love to have fun and what other way to have fun than doing what I love to do best hosting events, club events, runway shows etc.

Has your work for a few of the Atlanta clubs turned you into a local celebrity?
Well, I'm way past the "LOCAL" celebrity I'm very well known in Miami, Memphis, Jacksonville, New York for different works that I have done and still doing. I can truly say that couple of works that I have done in Atlanta didn't turn me into a celebrity, but I think I'm seen as the cool model of Atlanta. Yeah, I have been in videos, shows but I think me being one of the coolest ATL models turned me into a celebrity.

Hottie of the Week: Pairee

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Many components make up the hip hop game. Most only think of the rappers who drive the hip hop industry. But, when an entire production is being made, there is so much more than what meets the eye. Even some of what meets the eye is overlooked by many.

Pairee is among the members of the hip hop industry often seen, yet still overlooked. With dreams of modeling, Pairee is actively pursuing her dream. Currently, she is signed to Street Kingz Entertainment and will soon be in videos.

Now a part of one of the biggest movements in Baton Rouge, Pairee is very excited. Until her career takes off, Pairee is going to nursing school. While she is confident she will one day become a force in the industry, she has a solid back up plan.

Hip Hop Vibe spoke with the confident Street Queen earlier today. Read the full interview below:

How long have you been modeling?
I actually started modeling in high school during my freshman/sophomore year for a department store called the Bon Marche', located in Seattle, Washington. It was an unpaid modeling intership, if you will. We helped set up events and fashion shows. I was also able to model in some the fashion shows. There was one in particular, called the "Back to School" fashion show. They provided make-up, outfit changes, and cat walk intructions. We did it just like the professionals.

What was it like growing up in Seattle?
Seattle is like a second home to me, I was born in Baton Rogue, Louisiana. We relocated when I was seven years old. Seattle was a great place to grow up, it had many opportunites and challenges. It molded me into who I am today.

Is there much of a difference between Seattle and Baton Rogue?
Yes! Seattle is a fast-paced growing city and always is on the go. Baton Rogue is more laid back and is steady growing, but it has it's Southern drawl that makes you feel right at home with Grandma or Grandpa. Both cities are home and there is nothing like home.

Do you have any gig's coming up?
Yes, I have a couple of things in the works. I have a photo shoot, titled "Gemini Shoot," which is also a 12 month calendar featuring yours truly, as well as some video shoots, just to name a few.

What was your feeling when you were informed you were added to SKE?
My feeling(s) you mean, because I had a lot of emotions going on all at once. I was very skeptical at first and then I did some more research even after everything was official, but overall I was very excited, nervous, ready, inspired, shocked, and thought to self this could possibly be a DREAM come true.

Will you be in the upcoming videos?
Yes, I will be working with J. Slimm, the head of SKE. He has a video called "Make a Flick" off of his upcoming mixtape. I also will be working with Anthony Droze and Marcus Dearbone, to name a few.

You are also studying to become a nurse correct?
Yes, that is correct. I am looking forward to reaching that desired dream as well.

What advice would you offer to younger models coming up?
Please do your research if you are ever approached by any type of agency, or entertainment company. Have self respect, because if you have respect for self, no one else can disrespect you or try to get over. Also, make sure you are comfortable with any and all projects: photo shoots, music videos etc. that you are involved in. Last, but not least, have fun and never let any one tell you that you CAN'T, always know that you CAN. You can do anything your creative mind allows.

How important do you believe education is for aspiring entertainers and people as a whole?
Education is very important. At the same time it isnt for everyone, but with out it you face a lot of challenges, such as people doubting your intelligence or creativity. It's also a great back up tool to have if the industry fails you, because nothing is promised. It's either a blessing or a golden opportunity in life, so always have a plan A. Education and a plan B. Goal or dream to pursue in life.

When will people begin seeing your work appear?
Very soon! My calendar/Gemini shoot doesn't have an official date set yet, but this is just the beginning so STAY TUNED!! It's going to be a great show.

Hottie of Week: Ladi Red

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Also known as Jessica, Ladi Red is very popular on the club scene in New York City. Her name may not ring bells, but it will in the near future. Having been around for some time, she is working on building a career.

Through her frequent club visits, Ladi Red has come across several rising rappers. The result of this has led to her laying background vocals on some tracks. Aside from the small features, she has also appeared in a few videos.

With the video honeys, as they are fondly called, building careers off being in music videos, Ladi Red is building her own career. For now, she will be appearing in local videos, but her aim is international.

Earlier today, Ladi Red gave us an exclusive interview, read it below:

How did you get the name Ladi Red?
Well, it comes from my usual choice of clothing and the fact that red is my favorite color.

Do you enjoy doing what you do?
For the record, I am much more than a simple party girl, I work hard during the week and I got to school. But, when I have free time, I do hit up the clubs. So, for the most part, I do what I have to do. Having the opportunity to work and go to school is a blessing with the economy the way it is, so yes, I do enjoy doing what I do.

When will people be seeing more of you?
I will be a part of several different projects, in both minor and major roles.

Will you be appearing in any music videos this summer?
Hopefully so because I need all of the exposure I can get.

How do you feel about being referred to as a video honey?
Personally, it does not matter what people call me or what they think about me. I do what I have to do so I can do what I want to do. Being in front of the camera is what I want to do and a price comes along with that and if the price is being called a video honey, then so be it.

Do you have a manager or an agent?
Actually, I do, I am currently working with Aaron McBride and his BRS Management.

Is he behind many of your upcoming appearances?
Yes he is. Aaron has been wonderful every step of the way, as he has had my career as the top priority the entire time I have been with him.

How long have you been working with him?
For a very long time, he was one of the first people to truly realize the talents I have aside from my looks. He helped get me on a song a where my voice was used in a phone recording?

Have you considered a career in music?
There are a lot of things I have considered. However, I live life one step at the time. Before I try to start a music career, I need to actually get the ball rolling on my current projects. Once I get a result from this, I will begin focusing on other projects.

Do you have any shoutouts?
Yes, I would like to shout out everyone who is down with me and they know who they are!

Hottie of the Week: Brittany Monet

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Having been in the business since the tender age of five, Brittany Monet is ready to break into the game in a major way. Not only does she model, but she also dances and sings. Before the end of next year, she hopes to release her debut album. Despite being a triple threat, her talents do not stop there.

Outside of her career, Brittany is going to school at the University of Houston. Currently, she is persuing a degree in psychology so there is something for her to fall back on. Even with a full plate, a lot of energy goes into everything Brittany Monet does. Soon, she hopes all of this hard work will pay off.

Recently Hip Hop Vibe's own Lady Killa reached out to Brittany's camp and they reached back. The full interview can be read below:

1. Coming into a crowded field, how do you plan to separate yourself from the pack?

Basically it is simple, just being myself will separate me. I feel that each individual has their own unique characteristics so it is up to them to execute that. I always execute my strengths and weaknesses, so that I cannot be hindered by any opportunities.

2. In this business, a lot of women are overlooked because of their body types, how do you plan to show that you are more than a pretty face and a nice body?
- I plan on selling my entire package, not just my physical attributes. I feel that if I give a little at a time that won’t give room for people to make sudden judgments. We all have to grow together and if I’m a new face trying to attract all crowds I have to give them little by little so that way they will know me before they know the rest of my package.

3. When did you realize you wanted to be in show businesses?
- When I was a young child, around age 7, I always performed for daycares and small community centers, school, and benefit programs. Whenever I see the crowd’s face and how my presence on stage made them react I knew this was something I always wanted to do. To entertain, and to make people fall in love with dancing just as hard as I did.

4. When did you land your first gig?
- My first big gig as far as non-school or center programs was with, Ashley Williams R&B Sensation from Houston, and I got to dance with her from my good friend Hood Star Chantz putting in a good word for me. After that I was able to perform and do videos with Just Brittany and L-G Kalizouri Entertainment’s own Kimistry “The Mixed Breed” and Renaldo Price “Tha Truth”.

5. What inspires you to get up each day and continue to do what you do?
-God is my motivation, and my family! I aspire to be the best that I can be and if I can do that and put a smile on their faces I feel that is the greatest Blessing and motivation to keep pushing!

6. When can people expect to something from you?
-I’m working on a big surprise I don’t want to spill yet, but just know that it will be out at the end of the year and it will be something everyone will enjoy!

7. How do you plan to use the fact that you model as an advantage for your dance career?
-I feel networking will take me far. If you have positive people and a great social circle than you can achieve anything. By modeling it will show that I’m versatile, I may be doing a photo shoot one day for someone and they may need a dancer. That would put me on the map to showcase my multi-talents and you never know how that may work out!

8. Are you worried about people classifying you as another Melyssa Ford?
- Not at all! I am my own person and people will definitely see that.

9. Do you currently have a deal with a label or modeling agency?
Management Company: L-G Kalizouri Entertainment (Model/Dancer)

10. Do you have any material already out there?
-I do, but I am working on my YouTube page to be reconstructed so all of my footage is down. As soon as I get it back up I’ll post it on my twitter and Facebook.

11. Where can people go to see more images of you and see your videos?
-I’m on Facebook, Twitter, Dance Jam, here on Hip Hop Vibe, and You Tube. My facebook is Brittany Monet, twitter is @London_BEE and my You Tube is being constructed along with my dance jam, but I’ll post that as soon as they are fixed. L-G Kalizouri Entertainment’s website coming soon! Check out L-G Kalizour on FB as well.

Hottie of the Week: iKandy

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

iKandy, birth name Tuyakula Napandula Musheko, was born and raised in the South African city of Namibia, Windhoek. Growing up in a household with three other children, young Tuyakula wanted to stick out.

At school, she did just that, as she attened primarily white schools. Being exposed to so many cultures at such a young age has taught iKandy to be accepting to all types of people. As a child, and even to this day, a love for television has given iKandy a vivid imagination.

Her wide imagination is what led her into the world of modeling. When she came of age, iKandy's mother allowed her to participate in mini fashion shows and the rest is history. Recently, Hip Hop Vibe caught up with iKandy and landed the exclusive interview, thus making her the first Hottie of the Week.

1. Q. Exactly what has inspired you to become a model?

    A. I fell in love with fashion at a young age but I only had an eye for it and my designing skills were not my strongest point. Since I was 12years old people have been suggesting I become one because I had the height and looks but I was too much of a tomboy. As I grew older I came to appreciate it and was highly attracted to that form of art.

2. Q. Which models inspired you growing up?
    A. I was inspired by Liya Kadebe due to the fact that she is a fellow African model that had made it far in the industry. Tyra Banks because she was a curvy model just like I am and taught me to embrace them. Heide Klum because I have never seen anybody more humble in the midst of such an industry of people who to me seem to sell their soul to the devil.

3. Q. How long have you been in the business yourself?
    A. I have been in the industry since grade 8(2004) doing mini fashion shows and promotions.

4. Q. Have you run into any negativity while pursuing your dream?

    A. Yes. As normal girls do you become insecure about your body growing up so because you fell that you are never as pretty or as thin as the next girl. I finally grew out of it.

5. Q. Do you feel as if you have an advantage over American models?
    A. I feel the only way I have an advantage to American girls is that the modeling industry here is not as congested but other than that I feel they have a better chance of making it big and landing bigger accounts.

6. Q. Is there any pressure on you, being a model of color in a profession dominated by white women?
    A. Yes. One would think because this is Africa the discrimination wouldn’t be as bad against black models but the girls that land the good, international deals are usually white or mixed. You would be able to count the all black girls on one hand.

7. Q. How do you plan to leave your mark on the modeling industry?
    A. Despite the times that I might have to go the extra mile for true art I would like to be known as the model that truly embraced their natural beauty. I would like to let women experience the feeling of true beauty which in my opinion comes from appreciating what God gave you. And from that you gain confidence and with confidence anything is possible.

8. Q. How many gigs have you landed since being in the business?

    A. More then I can remember but all for fun and nothing really major.

9. Q. In the future, do you plan to branch out of modeling to also possibly do television and film?
    A. Yes if I’m fortunate enough to find an undiscovered talent that allows me to branch out into television and film then I would without a doubt.

10. Q. What are some of your interests outside of modeling?

      A. MUSIC, MUSIC and more MUSIC… Keeps me alive.

11. Q. What is your favorite television program, if any?
      A. 90210 ;)

12. Q. Where do you see yourself ten years from now?

      A. I would love to be a mother by then and a CEO of a bank and still headed on up.

13. Q. Once you do make it big, do you see yourself mentoring young models, such as yourself?

      A. Most defiantly. I have noticed a lot of people that made it far forget how it was when you still had nothing so id like to share my experiences if I ever make it big to help young models learn from them and help any other way I can at that stage.

14. Q. More than anyone else, who do you admire in show business, as a whole?

      A. Beyonce Knowless. Not only do I admire this lady but she is the one person I envy. She gets to do what she loves the most and because of that she is able to work hard at it. She is the most hardworking lady in show business in my opinion and I admire that.

15. Q. Where can people interested in you see more photos of you?
      A.  Hip Hop Vibe Social network. Will post more pictures with time.
