With Dr. Dre finally releasing Detox, Saigon finally landed a secure deal to release The Greatest Story Never Told. Over the course of five years, singles have been released and release dates have been announced. But, even with all of the hype, nothing has ever come from Saigon.
At one point, in 2007, Saigon called out Just Blaze, the executive producer of the album. Not only was Just producing the album, but he had also signed Saigon to Fort Knocks Entertainment. It was assumed he had a deal, himself, with Atlantic Records. But, after the way they mishandled Saigon, Just Blaze left.
Despite all of the ups and downs, Just Blaze and Saigon stuck together and they plan to release the album in February. With the album finally coming, Just Blaze decided to open up. He said that issues with Atlantic Records held the album up and they could not find a good enough offer from anyone else, so they held on to the album. During this time, they were able to rework the album.
Just Blaze promises people they will be able to hear Saigon's pain and hunger from the past four years come to life on the official release of The Greatest Story Never Told. The album will be released on February 15 on Fort Knocks Entertainment and Suburban Noize Records.
