Rhymefest loses his Alderman Election

Throughout his career, Rhymefest has always rapped outside of the box. On a few of his songs, he admitted he does not listen to much rap music. When it boils down, the only rapper he really listens to is himself.

Rhymefest is a part of the Chicago hip hop scene, which also includes talents, Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco. Much like them, Rhymefest raps about improving the world and making a difference. But, he took his a step farther when he ran for alderman.

Despite being a long-shot candidate, Rhymefest gave Willie Cochran a run for his money. But, in the end, he lost the election 54% to 45%, coming up short. Even though he has come up a little short, Rhymefest is not conceding defeat.

Rhymefest's team is actually pushing for a recount, despite a 9% loss.
