Early in his career, Wiz Khalifa has found a mentor in the legendary hip hopper, Snoop Dogg. Snoop is hoping to provide a source of guidance for Wiz that he did not have. In many ways, Snoop Dogg carved his own path through the game.

Snoop Dogg's career began on Death Row Records. There were only a few artists associated with the label who were over 25 years of age. Surrounded by violence and controversy, Snoop Dogg left the label in 1998.

Wiz Khalifa makes a different type of music and is under a less stressful label situation. Still, Snoop Dogg has been providing advice for the newcomer. Khalifa said Snoop told him there was no one way to make it in the game.

The prized advice from Snoop Dogg to Wiz Khalifa was to "continue to do what you're doing."
