Towards the start of the year, 50 Cent landed a major endorsement with Sleek Electronics. 50 Cent soon had his own headphone line under Sleek called The Sleek by 50. Soon after the launch of the line, 50 Cent claimed Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine were upset. Dr. Dre denied this.
However, in the midst of the back-and-forth between 50 Cent and Dr. Dre, The Sleek by 50 was suddenly discontinued. Not only did 50 Cent land an endorsement deal, he also purchased a significant stake in the parent company. In February, 50 Cent was named a board member of H&H Imports.
It turned out 50 Cent decided to discontinue the headphone line in an effort to restructure the company. Now the head of Sleek Electronics, the former bad boy rapper 50 Cent is now buying out the competition. Recently, 50 Cent used SMS Audio to purchase KonoAudio. This now adds three different types of headphones under 50 Cent's company.
The headphones will be available sometime this fall.
