Last week, it seemed as if Game had finally did himself in. Game has made a second career out of pushing people's buttons. It is bad enough he is one of rap's biggest stars and he often disrespects the police. But, this disrespect was taken to another level last week.
While on Twitter, Game released the telephone number of one of the deputy sherrifs. Game said the phone lines to his BWS headquarters were backed up. The Compton rapper was hiring interns for his record label and released the sherrif's phone numer as a joke.
The joke ended up being on Game, as charges were filed. Game interviewed with CNN to explain the situation. He said one of his friends was playing with his Twitter through his phone. His friend was posting random numbers and one happened to be the number to the sherrif.
Earlier that day, Game had made a tweet, himself, about looking for interns. However, later in the day, the telephone numbers were tweeted. Many of his followers in the Los Angeles area assumed this was for the internship and dialed the numbers. Game said he never wanted anything like this to happen, as the last thing he would want is to ever trick his fans.
Once he realized things had gotten out of hand, Game said he did not want any of this. With a girlfriend and several children, he did not want the bad publicity. Game offered an apology to both his fans and his family for the misunderstanding. The Los Angeles Sherrif Department accepted the apology, saying it was well-received and relevant.
The LASD also said the criminal charges against Game had been dropped and they love the positive message he issued in his apology.
