Hottie of the Week: Ashley Coburn

By Lady Killa
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

It is often said that a person can do anything they set their mind to. This statement is true, but the part left out is the difficulties. The difficulties is what keeps many people from accomplishing their dreams.

For the one-hundred people who give up, there is one person who continues to push. Ashley Coburn is that one person. One year ago, Coburn launched her company, Suga Cane Entertainment, and has not looked back.

Now the head of her own modeling/promotions company, she also serves as a model, herself. In only a year's worth of time, she has become one of the more well-known up-and-comers in the game.

Recently, she discussed her rise and new projects with Hip Hop Vibe.

Read the entire interview below:

How do you feel about your career currently?
Modeling is a career that I always wanted to do from the traveling to meeting new people, to networking..I LOVE IT.

When did you start Suga Cane Entertainment?
I actually linked with with my bussiness partner, BJ from Rep1, we sat down and talked about coming up with a company for upcoming models who have the drive for modeling and thats how we came up with Suga Cane Entertaiment.

Explain your experience with the company so far.
The experience is amazing, I love the shows, and the models.

For the most part, how have things gone for you?
Things have been good, just finished my photoshoot with Dash, for Kim Kardashian's summer collection in Miami.

Do you ever fall victim to being star struck?
Huh?

How do you separate professional from personal?
Just keep personal way from professional. You don't want nobody in your personal life, try your best not to discuss any personal situation in your professional life.

When did you first begin modeling?
I first began modeling when I was three years old. I started in a Baby Gerber commercial in Panama (the country) and from there my mom put me in every modeling event.

Do you feel as if you are born to entertain?
YES !!! I mean I'm funny, when I'm in that runway I feel free I feel alive.

Does working in the nightlife make you dislike it on a personal level?
Well, yes just a little because I know I know a lot of guys don't want their women out in the clubs or guys all over his women and my grandmother always told me that a young woman shouldn't be out late at night (laughs). I'm young, I'm single I love to have fun and what other way to have fun than doing what I love to do best hosting events, club events, runway shows etc.

Has your work for a few of the Atlanta clubs turned you into a local celebrity?
Well, I'm way past the "LOCAL" celebrity I'm very well known in Miami, Memphis, Jacksonville, New York for different works that I have done and still doing. I can truly say that couple of works that I have done in Atlanta didn't turn me into a celebrity, but I think I'm seen as the cool model of Atlanta. Yeah, I have been in videos, shows but I think me being one of the coolest ATL models turned me into a celebrity.
