In 2006, Lil Wayne scored a unique hit with his single, "Shooter." The song featured Robin Thicke, the son of Alan Thicke. Lil Wayne, at the time, was branded as a gangsta rapper. Him working with a singer, such as Thicke, was a risk.
The risk paid off and "Shooter" was among the many hits to Lil Wayne's name. However, following the success of "Shooter," Lil Wayne decided to hit the mixtape scene. Lil Wayne did not release any mainstream music, but contributed verses.
However, Lil Wayne did feature Thicke on his 2008 album, Tha Carter III. The two came together for the New Orleans/Hurricane Katrina awareness song, "Tie My Hands." Since Tha Carter III, Lil Wayne has released several albums. None of these albums feature any contributions from Robin Thicke. Because he works with so many people, Lil Wayne struggles to include everyone on every album. Nothing has changed between Lil Wayne and Robin Thicke, though.
Lil Wayne has been featured on Robin Thicke's albums, as their collaborations have also been a part of his albums. Now, the two will be coming together again on Thicke's latest album, Love After War. Their collaboration is called "Pretty Little Heart."
