Chaos Kid, Detroit rapper, commits suicide

For years, Detroit's local hip hop scene has been held down by Chaos Kid. An artist for Bassmint Productions, the same label Eminem started on, Chaos Kid is dead. The 37-year-old rapper reportedly committed suicide on September 28 and his body was found on October 3.

Even though Eminem soon left Bassmint Productions to sign with Aftermath Entertainment, he still maintained a close relationship with Chaos Kid. Eminem has yet to discuss the death of his associate. Chaos Kid and Eminem recorded under the name Soul Intent from 1989 to 1992.

Chaos Kid's given name was James Deel and he later changed his name to Santiago Snafu. A funeral service for Chaos Kid will be held on October 10. The funeral will take place at the Harry J. Will.
