Nicki Minaj was hit with a major loss, earlier this week. Her cousin, with whom she was very close to, was murdered in cold blood. In the end, it was revealed he was not even the intended victim of the shooting. Doing nothing to ease the pain, Nicki Minaj has been in mourning ever since.

Yesterday, a song titled "We Miss You" leaked to the internet. With the death of her cousin, many fans and hip hop sites assumed the song was about her cousin. Because he had died only a few days before, this was a safe assumption. However, because it was safe does not mean it was true.

"We Miss You" has been shared by several people online and it has gotten back to Nicki Minaj. Setting the record straight, Nicki Minaj said the song was not about her cousin. Instead, Nicki Minaj said she recorded "We Miss You" over a year ago. Nicki admitted the lyrics eerily depict her cousin's death, but the song was written and recorded on May 24, 2010.

Nicki Minaj mourns death of Cousin, NYPD investigates

The Fourth of July in 2011 is one Nicki Minaj will never forget. In the middle of the celebration, Nicki was informed that her cousin was dead in Brooklyn, New York. Nicki Minaj revealed the name of her cousin to be Nicholas, although he went by many other names.

Following Nicki Minaj's announcement, fans and peers began offering their sympathies. Currently, the NYPD are investigating exactly what happened. According to initial reports, Nicholas Telemaque was dead upon arrival to the Kings County Hospital.

Now, officers of the NYPD are saying Telemaque was shot all over his upper torso. Suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Telemaque was indeed dead when he was sent over to Kings County Hospital. It has obviously been a tough situation for Nicki Minaj.
