50 Cent prepares G-Unit expansion

Now that he is off of Interscope Records, 50 Cent feels in control of his career for the first time. Ironically, he began as an independent artist and worked hard to get signed. However, as soon as 50 Cent became a major-label artist, major was not the way to go. When the major labels became an unflattering picture, 50 Cent laughed as other artists had enough and went independent and then he followed suit.

The first releases from the indepedent G-Unit Records will be coming this summer. Having already filmed videos from Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks, 50 Cent is setting up release dates for their albums. The first release off of the new G-Unit will come from Tony Yayo. He will be followed by Lloyd Banks. Towards the end of summer, 50 Cent will release his Black Magic album.

But, outside of those three, there are not too many other artists signed to G-Unit Records. He said that he will feature these new artists on his album as a method of promotion for them. 50 Cent said that he is currently looking for new artists to sign.
