Drake represents the new era of hip hop, but he has not forgotten about those who came before him. The Canadian rapper is actually one of the first stars to reach out to the major veterans in the game. Drake has relationships with plenty of veteran rappers in the game.
Q-Tip is among the veteran rappers Drake has an affiliation with. The two met during Jay-Z and Eminem's concert at Yankee Stadium. Drake introduced himself to Q-Tip through a mutual friend and they formed their own friendship. In the time since their first meeting, Q-Tip has been giving Drake advice.
Advice is not the only thing Q-Tip is giving Drake. It is no secret that Drake is currently recording Take Care. Because the album is Drake's, it is expected to sell very well. Realizing this, Q-Tip has made a beat specifically for Drake and also has recorded a verse on it. With his second album, Drake said he wanted to have more of a veteran feel and now he has it.
Drake is also working with 9th Wonder and DJ Premier on Take Care. The album is expected to be released sometime in the spring of 2011.
