In 2007, Lil Wayne was arrested after performing with Ja Rule and filming their "Uh Ohhh!" video. Both rappers spent the night behind bars. Lil Wayne returned to New York City for the court ruling, and he was put on probation.
However, in 2009, Lil Wayne was sentenced to one year in prison. Realizing he was really going to prison, Wayne began promoting his Young Money crew. Before going to prison, he released his album and Drake held things down.
In March 2010, Lil Wayne began his stay in Riker's Island in the state of New York. Due to good behavior, Wayne only spent seven months behind bars. After spending seven months in New York, Lil Wayne grew tired of the place.
A free man again, Lil Wayne decided not to perform in New York City. The last time he performed in the city, he ended up behind bars and spending seven months of time in the state. From the way it looks, Lil Wayne has quit on New York City.
