Common makes appearance at Illinois State University

At the start of the month, Common said he would celebrate Black History Month by visiting several colleges and spreading awareness. Common's most-recent stop was at his hometown Illinois State University.

Common made a presentation about the effect hip hop has had on the American culture. His appearance was a part of the university's Black History Month celebration. While he was there, Common also had a small performance.

Throughout his career, Common has been very different from many other rappers. All of his rhymes raise awareness in some way. Common is arguably the most socially-concious rapper in the game.
