After the 2008 dismantling of Roc-A-Fella Records, Freeway has been on the independent scene. Initially, Freeway remained a part of State Property Records, but he decided to go fully solo in 2009. There have been a myraid of rumors about where Freeway would go next.
The most recent rumors have Freeway headed to CTE, the label owned by Young Jeezy. Signing with CTE would mark the return of Freeway to Def Jam. Freeway said he could bring a lot to CTE and it is a possibility of him signing there. But, nothing has come yet.
Damon Dash recently addressed his financial situation and it was made to seem as if he was broke. Freeway, who spent over five years with Dash, said he does not agree with those rumors. Despite what the media has said, Freeway does not believe Damon Dash is broke. Freeway said it was Damon Dash who always told them to manage their money, during the good years.
Freeway also discussed the other founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, Jay-Z. Even though they no longer record for the same label, Freeway and Jay-Z have remained close. Freeway said a collaboration with Jay-Z may be in the works in the near future. If the collaboration will not be on Freeway's upcoming album, he promised it would definitely come on his next album.
