Da Brat says Nicki Minaj is leading the Pack

Nicki Minaj has been a hot topic ever since she made her public debut last year. Immediately, she had an enemy with Lil' Kim and the two have traded barbs for nearly a year. Here in the past few months, their feud has finally died down.

With Lil' Kim seemingly out of the picture, Nicki Minaj has been able to provide more focus on her tour. Ever since she and Lil Wayne embarked upon the I Am Music II tour, Nicki Minaj has been on a lap dance spree. Steve Nash was her latest "victim."

Recently, Da Brat, a veteran femcee, was released from prison and she is on the comeback trail. However, unlike a few of the other veterans, she gave Nicki Minaj credit. Da Brat feels like Nicki is holding it down for all of the other female rappers.

In Da Brat's opinion and in the opinion of most fans, Nicki Minaj is leading the pack in the female rap game and she gives her props for reviving a dead sub-genre. Along with admiring her lyrical ability, Da Brat is also a fan of Nicki Minaj's wardrobe choices. Previously, Da Brat said she was not a major fan of the feud between Nicki and Lil' Kim.

Da Brat talks Remy Ma and Lil' Kim/Nicki Minaj feud

Fresh out of prison, Da Brat is taking the time to check things out, as things have changed since she was last free. The female rap game is pretty much nonexistent outside of Nicki Minaj and Lil' Kim. One of the biggest female names after Lil' Kim and before Nicki Minaj was Remy Ma and she is currently in prison.

Juelz Santana and Lady Luck have given Remy Ma props for staying strong behind bars as long as she has. Most people would have gone crazy after being in prison as long as she has. Having just come out of prison, Da Brat has nothing but respect for her. Brat said Remy obviously has boss bitch in her blood.

Da Brat also spoke about Lil' Kim's feud with Nicki Minaj and she is not impressed. Unlike most artists, Da Brat is not a fan of rap beef because she thinks it hurts more than it helps. While Lil' Kim may revive her career, it may be at Nicki Minaj's expense. Ending Nicki Minaj's career is not good for hip hop, as there are only a handful of active females in the game, period.

Personally, Da Brat feels their beef makes no sense, but she says if they insist on feuding, let them have at it.

Da Brat is Free from Prison, but Under House Arrest

Yesterday, Da Brat made headlines for the first time in years when she announced she was released from prison. Shortly after her stint on VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club," Da Brat was arrested and sent to prison. During this time, Da Brat's career was put on hold, indefinitely.

However, now with Da Brat out of prison, several producers have been trying to get up with her. Brat's first move was finding Jermaine Dupri. She is working on new music and is still in touch with So So Def. Da Brat said she has two years of aggression she needs to let out.

While she is out of prison, Da Brat is not done serving her time, as she still has six more months. She will finish the remainder of her sentence on house arrest. Da Brat joked about putting some crystals on her ankle bracelet. Glad to be free, Da Brat said she is in a good position and will soon be done with all of this.

Da Brat is free, Working on New Album

It has been three years since Da Brat was last free when she hit a woman with a bottle. But, after the woman filed charges, she found herself in the Georgia Prison System. Despite being behind bars, she has remained close with Jermaine Dupri. Now separate from Def Jam, he is looking to rebuild his empire.

Da Brat is a free lady for the first time in years and she has wasted no time getting back into the public eye. Already, she has been featured in a video. Da Brat was discussing her career and how she plans to revive it. Starting this year, she wants to get herself back on track.

Headed back into the studio with Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat promises an incredible album. With her three-year prison term wrapping up, she has been released through work release. Her primary job is rapping, so Da Brat will find herself back with Jermaine Dupri.
