Young Money sophomore album in works

Following the success of Lil Wayne, Cash Money Records intends to dominate the fall season. With no releases in September, the label is planning for a new Drake release in October, followed by several other releases.

YMCMB releases this fall will include Bow Wow, Lil Twist, Nicki Minaj, Jay Sean, and Birdman. But, the highlight of 2011 will come at the end of the year. Young Money will be coming back together for another compilation album.

Two years ago, the group released We Are Young Money, as an introduction to the fans. One reason the album came together so quickly was because Lil Wayne was headed to prison in 2010. But, this time, everyone is out and working on new music. On the second Young Money album, there will be more than enough time to record and promote the new music.

Lil Wayne on Cory Gunz, Unreleased Young Money albums, and the Future

For the most part, Lil Wayne has proven all of his critics wrong. When he said he was the best rapper alive, most laughed. After the release of Tha Carter III, Lil Wayne said his Young Money crew would take the game over and the laughter continued.

But, before the end of 2009, he made everyone a believer and then unleashed Drake and Nicki Minaj. Despite their success, critics are beginning to say the rest of Young Money will not make it. Currently, Cory Gunz is riding the wave of "6 Foot 7 Foot."

Lil Wayne told fans not to expect any new music from the hot spitter anytime soon. Wayne said he is not going to force feed Cory Gunz because he is on a hot song. The goal is for him to become a bigger artist, so Lil Wayne said he would not risk turning Cory Gunz into a one hit wonder. Even though he has buzz, Lil Wayne feels is not ready at the moment.

While Young Money has released albums from Drake and Nicki Minaj, they have held back on many other artists signed to the label. This includes Jae Millz, Shannell, Lil' Twist, Mack Maine, and Gudda Gudda.

Nicki Minaj announces Surprise Collaboration

Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj said she would not be doing collaborations for two years. The only way she would work with another artist was if it was Britney Spears. But, only weeks later, she announced she was going to be on Tha Carter IV.

Nicki Minaj will also be featured on Lil' Twist's debut album, along with new releases from Drake and Bow Wow. Aside from this, her next album is likely to be star-studded. Now, Nicki Minaj is even talking about her collaborations.

She has yet to reveal who she will be working with, but Nicki promised the collaboration would turn heads. Nicki Minaj has already worked with nearly everyone in the game. Outside of music, she may end up working with L.A. Reid.

Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj to appear on "Don't Get It Twisted"

Upon signing mixtape stars, Drake and Nicki Minaj, to his Young Money label, Lil Wayne focused on making them into mainstream stars. Wayne introduced Drake to the masses before going to Riker's Island. Drake would become the face of the crew over the summer.

Nicki Minaj created her own buzz when she landed on two of the spring's biggest tracks, "My Chick Bad" and "Lil' Freak." Working with two established veterans, Ludacris and Usher, was big for her. It was impressive because neither are associated with her crew.

Lil' Twist has also had a large following over the past few years. But, as a younger member of the crew, he has not had the publicity of the big three. This will all change this year. Twist has been recording his new album for months and he plans to release it this summer. As expected, the album will be star-studded, featuring appearances from Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj, but the album will also feature other big names. Sean Kingston and Justin Bieber will also appear on his album, Don't Get It Twisted.

Recently, a video was filmed for Lil' Twist's "Dayo" single, featuring guest appearances from Birdman, the head of the operation, and Mack Maine.

Lil Twist preparing Young Money debut

Right after Lil Wayne announced he is close to completing his long-awaited Carter IV album, Lil Twist announced he is preparing his debut album. The album was initially supposed to be released last year, but Drake and Nicki Minaj's promotion made that nearly impossible.

Lil Twist officially signed with Young Money in March 2010 and has been recording. He has secured collaborations on the album with label-mates, Drake and Nicki Minaj. Outside of the camp, Lil Twist will also be working with Khalil of Def Jam and Justin Bieber. The title of the album will be Don't Get It Twisted.

After waiting for almost a year, Lil Twist said he was happy his album is finally coming out. The album will be headlined by a few collaborations with Lil Wayne. While work for Don't Get It Twisted is underway, there is no set release date for the album. Lil Twist is working on a video for his popular new single, "Love Affair."
