Lil Wayne and Drake to perform at the 2011 BET Awards

Ever since they teamed up, Lil Wayne and Drake have formed a powerful duo in hip hop. Young Money has risen to the top of the game behind their efforts. Lil Wayne established the label in 2005, but did not have much success until Drake's arrival.

Young Money was put to the test when Lil Wayne was forced to spend seven months behind bars in 2010. During his absence, Drake properly introduced himself to the hip hop world. For the most part, the game embraced the newcomer.

Upon being released from prison, Lil Wayne continued to dominate the rap game, along with Drake. The duo closed 2010 on a high note and hit the ground running this year. Currently, Lil Wayne is dominating the game, as he waits to release Tha Carter IV.

In addition to his popular singles, Lil Wayne will now be performing alongside Drake at the 2011 BET Awards, as it was confirmed by BET executive, Stephen Hill. Chris Brown, Jill Scott, and Alicia Keys are among the other performers at the show. Both Wayne and Drake are up for 'Best Male Hip Hop Artist' and the 'Best Collaboration' award.

The 2011 BET Awards will take place on June 26 and the Shrine Auditorium, beginning at 8:00 pm.

Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane set "Ferrari Boyz" release date

Earlier this year, Gucci Mane announced he and his protege`, Waka Flocka Flame, were working on a new project. Gucci Mane has been working on several projects, including a new mixtape and a street album.

In between his February arrest rumors, Gucci Mane announced he was going to record an album with his protege`. Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame got the concept from Lil Wayne and Drake, and Jay-Z and Kanye West.

Unlike the previous four artists, Gucci Mane and Waka are still putting their albums together. After releasing a couple of singles, the two have a title for the album and a release date.

Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame's Ferrari Boyz album will be released on June 21.

Lil Wayne announces Drake collaboration album

While Lil Wayne was in prison, Drake held things down for Young Money. He kept the fans updated about Lil Wayne and announced release dates. Drake did his part in keeping Young Money afloat over the seven months Wayne was gone.

Following the release of Thank Me Later, Drake announced a collaboration album with Lil Wayne. He said their album would be released some time after the release of Tha Carter IV. As Drake was promoting his album, all talk of the Lil Wayne album ended.

Soon, Jay-Z and Kanye West stole the show when they announced their own collaboration album. Upon hearing about the album, Drake hinted towards them stealing the idea he and Lil Wayne had. While this may have been the case, Drake said he holds no ill will towards either of them, and he still plans to work with them again.

Lil Wayne has been on a tear since coming out of prison. His first project was "6 Foot, 7 Foot" and the video was officially released yesterday. The positive response to the video has Lil Wayne excited as he is back like he never left. Focusing on the future, Lil Wayne announced the album with Drake was much more than a myth. The album is coming, but it will come after Lil Wayne's other planned collaboration albums, first with Birdman, since 2007 has been delayed, and the T-Pain collaboration album, which has been held up since 2008.

Drake wants to respect their plans with Lil Wayne before he pushes to release his own album with him.
