Royce Da 5'9 credits Drake and J. Cole for bringing Lyricism Back to the Game

On his "Red Nation" hit, Game rapped "niggas'll trade they soul to be Drake or J. Cole." Of all the new talent in the rap game, they have received the most attention. Drake was already a popular mixtape rapper, while J. Cole is Jay-Z's product.

Drake made the transition to the big time last year and is now working on his second album. J. Cole, on the other hand, has been subject to several delays. It, undoubtedly, got to J. Cole, but now his debut release is on the way.

What Drake and J. Cole have brought to a struggling hip hop game has not gone unnoticed by Royce da 5'9. The Detroit rapper recently spoke on the two rappers. Royce da 5'9 said Drake, J. Cole, and artists like them, are bringing lyricism back to the game, when it was lacking.

Royce credits them, also Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Kanye West, for bringing lyrics back when lyrics were not even cool in hip hop. He referenced Waka Flocka Flame when he said he did not have lyrics and did not want them because they did not make any money.

Game under investigation for sharing Sherrif Officer's name

Weeks before the release of his fourth studio album, The R.E.D. Album, Game is under investigation. In the months leading up to the release of his album, Game has kept himself in the news. After months of being on the sidelines, Game emerged with "Red Nation." In the months between singles, Game has commented on current hip hop events.

Game intended to return to making headlines, himself, in the month of August. First, he challenged Jay-Z and Kanye West to a friendly beef, following the release of their album. Following his diss, Game offered a slight diss to Lil Wayne. With their albums coming on the same day, Game vowed to outsell and have a better album than Wayne.

Known for his antics, Game took things too far, recently. Perhaps receiving calls for internships, Game offered another phone number as a contact to the Black Wall Street offices. The number provided was actually the number to a Los Angeles County Sherrif deputy. The Los Angeles County Sherrif Department said Game's behavior was beyond irresponsible and each call should warrant an additional charge.

Game secures August 23 release date for "The R.E.D. Album"

Two years of anticipation will finally come to an end in the middle of the summer. Four years ago, Game began working on L.A.X., saying it would be his final album. But, he had signed a contract, obligating him to one more album.

In January of 2009, Game announced his next studio album would be The R.E.D. Album. Game said he had hit a new lyrical peak on this new album. He also said he would not mention 50 Cent or Dr. Dre on the new disc.

All of this changed right before the December 2009 release of the album. Snoop Dogg helped reunite Game and Dr. Dre, which led to him coming back to Aftermath Entertainment. Dre soon began reworking The R.E.D. Album, pushing it back.

For over a year, Dr. Dre has been working on the album, having Pharrell also come in and do some work on the album. After the release of the first single, "Red Nation," with Lil Wayne, and a couple of other songs floating around the internet, Game finally has confirmation. He met with Interscope head, Jimmy Iovine and they put together an official release date for The R.E.D. Album on August 23 of this year.

Game explains mentioning Drake and J. Cole in "Red Nation"

It comes as no surprise when Game mentions someone's name in one of his songs. Throughout his entire mainstream career, Game has mentioned different names when making comparions. Most recently, Game did this on his "Red Nation" single.

At the start of the second verse, Game raps "niggas'll trade they souls to be Drake or J. Cole." With the video for "Red Nation" coming, Game explained the line. Because of the way hip hop has changed, Game realizes there are a lot of copycats in the game.

Game acknowledged all of the one hit wonders who have come since he first entered the game. But, two rappers who have stuck around have been Drake and J. Cole. Game feels all new rappers are trying their hardest to be like them so they can stay around.

Finally preparing the release of The R.E.D. Album, Game released the first single, "Red Nation." The song features a hook from Lil Wayne. On this new song, Game says he is Charles Louboutin and his new album will be filled with those references.

Game explained why he debuted an alter ego. He feels all the good rappers do this. The Compton rapper cited Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg. Two years ago, Game said this album would solidify his career.

The moniker comes from designer Christian Louboutin, famous for the red bottom. Over the course of his career, Game has made his affiliation with the Bloods gang no secret. Game sees himself as the leader of the hip hop Bloods.

Snoop Dogg praises Game's "Red Nation"

Last week, Game announced the first official single from his long-awaited The R.E.D. Album. Yesterday, Game revealed he finally secured a release date for the album. In January 2009, Game announced he would release the album before the end of 2009. But, the last few months of the year held a reunion with Dr. Dre.

Snoop Dogg helped bring about this reunion which led to Dr. Dre producing most of Game's album. While this was great for hip hop, it was bad for those expecting the album to come out in 2009. The release date was delayed until 2010. Game was basically a non-factor in 2010, but will be back in 2011.

"Red Nation" has yet to be released, but DJ Khaled has heard the song. He said the song is one of the best released so far this year and is classic. Snoop Dogg heard the song and he cannot stop praising the quality. Hearing Game's lyrical improvement, Snoop said it is obvious Game has a "problem." He also believes the song will be a classic.

Game prepares to release "Red Nation"

For nearly two years, Game has been preparing for the release of his fourth album, The R.E.D. Album. Game said it would be his best lyrical effort, yet. On this album, Game was preparing to start the second phase of his career. Towards the end of 2009, his album was going to see the light of day.

But, Snoop Dogg managed to pull of the impossible, which stopped the album from being released. While working with Dr. Dre on his long-awaited Detox, Snoop suggested he bring Game in. Dre was not opposed to working with game. Snoop Dogg soon arranged a meeting and the two quickly got to work.

Because Dr. Dre wanted to work on The R.E.D. Album, it was delayed until March 2010. Throughout last year, release dates came and went without an album. Game has promoted several songs and they eventually ended up on mixtapes. This led to a minor dispute with RZA, early last month. In January, Game revealed he was close to done with his long-awaited album.

Recently, Game announced the release of "Red Nation," the song is rumored to be the first official single released from The R.E.D. Album. The Cool & Dre-produced single is said by Game to be released within the first two to three weeks.
