Shawty Lo shows BHF chain, getting G-Unit chain [VIDEO]

Recently, Shawty Lo discussed some of the things currently going on with him. Earlier this summer, Shawty Lo signed to G-Unit Records and immediately returned to the spotlight. Three years had passed since he had released an actual album.

Back to work on new music, Shawty Lo has purchased some new chains. The new G-Unit South leader was showing off his BHF chain, which stands for Bankhead Forever. When asked about the chain, he said he had just gotten it and it was already his favorite possession.

Speaking on chains, Shawty Lo said he would soon be getting a chain representing G-Unit. Sometime next year, Shawty Lo will begin getting work done for his new label. In the interview, Shawty Lo gave props to 50 Cent.

DJ Pauly D talks G-Unit Records deal

50 Cent has signed several artists to his G-Unit label this year. Last year, he established a new distribution deal with EMI Records. Through this new arrangement, the label released Lloyd Banks' H.F.M. 2.

Following the new deal, 50 Cent signed Shawty Lo and his entire D4L camp to G-Unit. Lil' Kim announced she was considering signing to G-Unit, too. 50 Cent denied this, but did announce the official signing of DJ Pauly D.

Recently, DJ Pauly D opened up about signing with the resurgent G-Unit Records. Best-known for his role in the popular MTV reality series, "Jersey Shore," Pauly D will also have his own headphone line under G-Unit.

DJ Pauly D admitted he looked up to 50 Cent for some time, so he jumped at the chance to get signed to his label. Now, a part of G-Unit Records, DJ Pauly D is ready to help make club hits for G-Unit.

Tyler, the Creator nixes Pharrell rumors

For months, Tyler, the Creator has been working with Pharrell and the response has been positive. Recently, Tyler, the Creator was rumored to have signed with Pharrell's record label. Tyler has been around for nearly two years.

As the head of Odd Future, Tyler, the Creator is the CEO of his own movement. Shawty Lo, the head of D4L Records, recently signed with G-Unit Records and still has his label. While Shawty Lo signed that sort of deal, Tyler, the Creator will not follow suit.

Tyler, the Creator hit back at the rumors of signing with Pharrell's label. Tyler posed the question, why would he, the CEO of his own label, sign with another record label. He said he will continue to work with Pharrell because their chemistry is "fucking awesome."

Earlier this year, Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj supposedly called a truce. While rumors suggested their feud had ended, Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj continued to trade insults. However, ever since the spring, Lil' Kim has been focused on music.

Last month, Lil' Kim joined the stage with the newest G-Unit member, Shawty Lo. While performing, Lil' Kim announced she may soon be signing with 50 Cent's label. When 50 Cent heard of the rumors, he denied ever holding talks with Lil' Kim. Following 50 Cent's denial, Lil' Kim has not mentioned a possible deal with G-Unit Records.

Earlier today, it was revealed Lil' Kim was signed to Universal Music Group. When the updated version of the roster was released, Lil' Kim's name was on the roster. For years, Lil' Kim was signed to Atlantic Records.

When 50 Cent managed to sign Shawty Lo and the entire roster of D4L Records, it was a power move. In the weeks since the signing, Shawty Lo and 50 Cent have made many appearances together.

Shawty Lo said he and 50 Cent's connection is deeper than rap and business. Their backgrounds are very similar, with the exception of one taking place in Atlanta, and the other in New York City.

Earlier this summer, D4L Records head, Shawty Lo signed with G-Unit Records. Initially, it appeared as if Shawty Lo signed a solo deal with G-Unit. However, as time went on, it was revealed Shawty Lo had placed the entire D4L label under G-Unit.

With the signing making news, 50 Cent came out and confirmed the story. But, when 50 Cent spoke about the deal, he said it was bigger than a record deal. Making several public appearances with Shawty Lo, 50 Cent said the deal was more of a partnership.

50 Cent said the deal includes marketing and promotion and once G-Unit recoups their investment, G-Unit and D4L splits the profits 50/50. Shawty Lo revealed he and 50 Cent had a seven hour business meeting. When he entered the meeting, Shawty Lo thought he was going to sign an artist deal with G-Unit Records, but 50 Cent had much more in mind.

Shawty Lo said 50 Cent listened to his music and watched his videos. After watching his videos and listening to the material, Shawty Lo said 50 Cent viewed him as a boss. As a result, 50 Cent gave Shawty Lo a deal in which he could become a boss. Through his deal with G-Unit, Shawty Lo is the head of D4L Records, retaining full creative control of his record label and his music. Aside from being the head of his label, Shawty will also be scouting for talent in the South on behalf of G-Unit Records.

Through D4L Records, 50 Cent wants G-Unit Records to also become an outlet for the South. Shawty Lo said he had to hire more staff in his time away from the game. Now back, Shawty Lo is focused on developing his artists, Stuntman, La Costra Nostra, Zone 6 and Jai-Jai. Shawty Lo said 50 Cent told him to sign artists from everywhere, but he is not looking for people who simply rap, instead he is looking for rappers who help create movements.

Shawty Lo says Gucci Mane has completed Four Videos already

Newly released from prison, the Brick Squad rapper is currently working on his new projects, as well. Recently, the two Atlanta rappers linked up and are recording music together. Shawty Lo said Gucci Mane is his brother from another.

Speaking on Gucci Mane, Shawty Lo said he is doing well. Despite only being out of prison for a few days, Shawty Lo said he has already finished filming four videos. Shawty Lo also said Gucci Mane is off probation and ready to move along with his career. In the near future, they plan to work on many more projects together.

50 Cent has wasted no time rebuilding his G-Unit label. After a few years of struggling, 50 Cent is signing new artists left and right. The biggest signing of the year was Shawty Lo and his D4L imprint.

Immediately following the D4L deal, Lil' Kim said she might also sign with G-Unit. Early in 50 Cent's career, he collaborated with Lil' Kim. Their collaboration led to a four-year beef, which was resolved in 2007.

Years ago, 50 Cent used to spark beef, now he goes after deals. In 2008, 50 Cent attempted to feud with current superstar, Lil Wayne. However, his attempts to diss Young Money failed.

One of the more popular Young Money members, at the time, was Kidd Kidd. Being featured on Wayne's hit, "Mrs. Officer," his name was ringing bells. However, as Young Money began to take off last summer, it was announced that Kidd Kidd had been dropped from the label. Recently, Kidd Kidd landed a collaboration with 50 Cent. Following the collaboration, it has been announced that he has been signed to G-Unit.

The previous attempts to expand G-Unit Records failed, but recently 50 Cent has been on a roll. Aside from the new artists he has signed, 50 Cent has signed an entire label. This is what he envisioned, years ago, when he signed with Interscope Records.

50 Cent initially wanted the artists signed to G-Unit to create their own record labels under the G-Unit umbrella. In 2006, 50 Cent and Young Buck attempted to create the G-Unit South extension, but Jimmy Iovine blocked this move because G-Unit's name was licensed under the Interscope Records name.

Following the issues with Interscope Records, 50 Cent and Young Buck soon took their feud public and the progress was lost. Five years later, 50 Cent was able to sign Shawty Lo and his entire D4L Records. Now, the G-Unit Records expansion can begin. Earlier today, 50 Cent and Shawty Lo discussed the terms of their deal. Shawty Lo said the record deal was worth over $10 million. Through this deal with G-Unit, Shawty Lo can sign rappers and other artists.

50 Cent said their new venture was funded by private investors, but Shawty Lo has 100% creative control when it comes to his music and everything in the South. But, outside of the South, 50 Cent has 100% control and will run things as he sees fit.

Because he signed with G-Unit Records, Shawty Lo has been all over the news. The Atlanta rapper experienced trouble when he attempted to release his sophomore album. Initially, his second album was supposed to be released in 2009. However, delays caused his album not to see the light of day and for him to leave his label.

After ending his feud with T.I., Shawty Lo has been out of the news, but teaming up with 50 Cent landed him right back in the headlines. In an odd turn of events, Shawty Lo said he had label prospects and, among them, G-Unit Records. Less than a month later, Shawty Lo revealed he was officially signed to G-Unit Records.

50 Cent confirmed this news, earlier this week. He said the deal is unlike other record deals. Instead of the traditional record deal, it covers the entire D4L label. Unlike traditional distribution deals, this deal handles all promotional and marketing. After recouping promotional expenses, G-Unit and D4L then enter a 50/50 deal.

Now, Shawty Lo is further explaining the deal he has in place with G-Unit Records. Shawty Lo said he signed with G-Unit because he did not want a 360 deal. Shawty Lo went on to say a rival label could have offered him five times what 50 offered and he still would have signed with G-Unit because he feels that is what is best for him.

With Shawty Lo becoming the latest member of G-Unit South, he has decided to explain his deal. Before signing with G-Unit, he was the head of D4L, a group and his label. Shawty Lo's new deal with G-Unit Records reflects this.

The deal signed was not one between Shawty Lo, instead the deal was between D4L and G-Unit. Under the terms of the new deal, D4L is now a member of G-Unit. Additionally, each of the members is signed to a solo deal with G-Unit.
