Juelz Santana talks Diplomats reunion and New Album

What may have been more surprising than The Diplomats breaking up was likely their reunion. When the crew split, Cam'ron tried, several times, to reconcile. Each time he reached out, Jim Jones refused to hear it. In 2009, Cam'ron made his official comeback and Jim Jones wanted to reunite.

Cam'ron, at this point, was done with the feud and focused on his business ventures. Before the end of 2009, Cam'ron and Jim Jones reunited and Diplomat Records was back. By 2010, the members were completing their obligations to land an exclusive distribution deal.

Diplomat Records, including all the Dipset members, landed with Interscope Records. Irv Gotti later revealed he helped the crew land this deal. For over a year, The Diplomats have been signed to Interscope Records. For over two years, they have been reunited. With all this, fans have remained patiently waiting on their Diplomatic Immunity 3.

Juelz Santana recently discussed this, saying all the individual members are currently working on new solo albums. However, they do not want to rush their group project. They have started working on the new album, but they are not going to force things on the new album.

Has Rick Ross become 50 Cent?

By 2008, it was clear Rick Ross was more than a one hit wonder, but he was on a collision course with 50 Cent. In the months prior, 50 Cent had dissed Lil Wayne and DJ Khaled. His own G-Unit movement was losing its fan base rapidly and the movement led by DJ Khaled was taking over.

DJ Khaled's We The Best movement was not yet a record label, just an assembly of artists. Lil Wayne and Plies were clearly the more popular artists from the group. Rick Ross, at the time, was more of a background figure. However, he had plans of changing the landscape.

The year of 2008 was eventually dominated by Lil Wayne and T.I., but Rick Ross had 2009. 50 Cent was also working on a comeback album and sending more disses towards artists affiliated with DJ Khaled. Early in 2009, Rick Ross released "Mafia Music," which contained a 50 Cent diss, poking fun at his baby mama drama.

The first half of 2009 consisted of Rick Ross and 50 Cent trading disses. 50 Cent, who was having issues with his record label, Interscope Records, boasted of how he would soon take over Def Jam. Once he took over the label, 50 Cent said he would block all moves made by Rick Ross and DJ Khaled. During this period of time, Rick Ross' name was in the headlines every day. Ross used this to his advantage, introducing his group, Triple C's, to the world and his Maybach Music Group.

50 Cent claimed victory in the feud, as did Rick Ross. At the end of the day, Rick Ross won, as his singles gained increasingly more radio play. By 2010, Rick Ross had become the biggest, active rapper in the South, prompting many hip hop publications to ask if Ross had become the "King of the South." One thing was clear, though, Rick Ross was a force to be reckoned with. His summer anthem, "B.M.F.," with Styles P, had taken over urban radio and Ross was on to better things.

Rick Ross promised he would be all over all forms of the media, in 2011, and he has lived up to the promise, with his God Forgives, I Don't album coming right before Christmas 2011. While he does not release diss records, Rick Ross is involved in a beef with Young Jeezy. Rick Ross usually releases a new album every year. Before Rick Ross landed on Def Jam, Young Jeezy did this. Now, Young Jeezy cannot even land a secure release date without something happening.

During a recent interview, Rick Ross was asked if he was behind this and he acted as if he was. When he was feuding with 50 Cent, Rick Ross was against his bullying tactics. During 50 Cent's feud with D-Block, who happened to be his Interscope label-mates, 50 was behind their album delays. Two years after he conquered the giant, has Rick Ross become the monster he set out to destroy?

Rick Ross talks Maybach Music expansion and "God Forgives, I Don't" title

Last year, Rick Ross made a play at Wiz Khalifa, but eventually he signed with Atlantic Records. Defeated, Rick Ross used this as motivation and added several new talents to his Maybach Music label. Among the 2011 talent signed to the label is Atlanta rapper, Pill, and DJ Scream.

While Rick Ross has signed many artists, many have questioned why. Signing an abundant amount of artists can sometimes be a bad thing. Rick Ross said the first thing he looks at is the work ethic of the artist. Many have credited Ross for having one of the best work ethics in the game.

Rick Ross promised all the new Maybach Music artists have a strong work ethic. Wale, who previously was signed with Interscope Records, has been steadily working hard. Rick Ross has a distribution deal established with Warner Bros. Records and Maybach Music will be releasing a number of new albums before the end of this year.

Among the new Maybach Music releases will be God Forgives, I Don't. Early this year, Rick Ross announced his new album, saying it would be out before the end of this year. Not much news has been released about the album, but everyone around Ross has hailed it as a classic. Rick Ross, himself, said he has been number two in the rap game for a while. However, after he releases this album, he will be the number one rapper in the game.

Speaking on the title of the album, Rick Ross said the title is fitting. While the title represents his real feelings, the God Forgives, I Don't album does not have a release date.

Can Red Cafe return Bad Boy Records to Prominence?

Early in its run, Bad Boy Records dominated the game. The label quickly built around The Notorious B.I.G. and Faith Evans. Founded by Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs, Bad Boy Records was quickly becoming a second-generation Def Jam. While Combs established himself a new-and-improved Russell Simmons, B.I.G. never had the chance to have a legacy like LL Cool J, as he was brutally murdered.

Bad Boy Records has had a number of hits over the past fourteen years, but the label has never had another flagship artist like their original. Immediately following Biggie's death, Mase became the new face of the label. However, during the promo run of his sophomore album, Mase decided to quit rap to become a preacher.

In 1999, Shyne became the new flagship artist for Bad Boy, but he was soon arrested and serving time in prison. Loon stepped up to the plate in 2003, but his career quickly fizzled, also. In 2009, Combs announced he had signed Red Cafe to the label. During the fall, Bad Boy Records left Atlantic Records for a new deal at Interscope Records. Diddy said Red Cafe would now be the focal point of Bad Boy Records.

Aside from being Bad Boy's new flagship artist, Red Cafe was also the head of his own Shakedown movement. Red Cafe has been working for well over five years, trying to gain exposure and release his debut album. After two years of delays, on Bad Boy, Diddy announced Red Cafe would soon be taking his rightful place as the new flagship artist of Bad Boy Records. Red Cafe also discussed the situation and announced his debut album would be released on Valentine's Day 2012.

But, for nearly ten years, Bad Boy Records has been struggling. Bad Boy Records has been struggling two years longer than the New York hip hop scene. Long before his Bad Boy days, Red Cafe was said to be the artist who would return New York to hip hop prominence. Now, he is being hailed as the man who can make the same happen for Bad Boy Records. However, Red Cafe does not have much more buzz than any of the other New York rappers in the game.

Once Red Cafe gets the Bad Boy machine behind him, will he be able to re-ignite New York hip hop and, in turn, place Bad Boy Records back on top of the game?

Game talks 50 Cent diss on "Love, Hate"

In 2009, Game and 50 Cent were both preparing to release new albums. 50 Cent had seemingly fallen from grace with Dr. Dre and Interscope Records. Meanwhile, Game was moved back to the primary Interscope label and reunited with Dre. Game had spent most of the year dissing 50 Cent, but promised not to on his album.

50 Cent used this to his advantage and decided to air out all of his enemies. His "So Disrespectful" track took aim at Jay-Z, Young Buck, Game, B.G., Dr. Dre, and Interscope Records. With his album being delayed, Game never properly responded to 50 Cent's disses. Each time Game tries to say he has reached a little common ground with 50, 50 comes back with a diss.

Recently, Game has dissed 50 Cent several times, even outing him as gay on Twitter. But, 50 Cent did not respond because he was more focused on his business ventures than petty rap beef. Before the release of his last two albums, 50 Cent attempted to diss Lil Wayne, but all of his disses were ignored. These days, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, and Game could all agree on one thing, their apparent dislike for Jay-Z. Other than that, Game and Lil Wayne have become the best of friends. As this has happened, Game continues to diss 50 Cent.

Proving he always keeps an ear to the streets, 50 Cent dissed both Lil Wayne and Game on his newest track, "Love, Hate." 50 Cent goes at Lil Wayne over his new skateboarder style and questions his sexuality, bringing up his attire here recently. From there, 50 Cent takes aim at one of his most-bitter enemies, Game, who features Lil Wayne on several songs off his The R.E.D. Album. 50 Cent brings up the 2005 shooting when he goes after Game. Poking fun at Game for never going after him, 50 Cent goes on to say he must have forgot, but not to forget he wrote most of Game's hits.

Game is currently on his R.E.D. Tour, but he responded to 50 Cent via Twitter. Once he finds a studio, Game said he is killing 50 Cent's "Planet of the Apes face havin ass nigga."

Jimmy Henchman hires lawyer, Gerald Shargel

Under usual circumstances, Jimmy Henchman remains behind the scenes. Henchman is behind the careers of Game and Ray J, among other talents. This summer, however, it was revealed all of this was a front for Jimmy Henchman's cocaine ring, which generated $10 million a year.

Being brought up on drug charges did not stop Jimmy Henchman from maintaining his innocence. The troubled mogul said he had no parts of the operation. Soon, Dexter Isaac, a former employee, revealed he was the one who shot Tupac Shakur in 1994. He only shot him because he was unable to rob the iconic rapper.

While Dexter Isaac's confession is not doing anything to help Jimmy Henchman's case, it has no effect on his current charges. However, a recent raid on one of his properties revealed Henchman owned a machine gun and a silencer. Now, with those charges mounting, Jimmy Henchman has decided to bring in more legal counsel. Recently, Jimmy Henchman hired Gerald Shargel, who has represented John Gotti, and he famously defended Irv Gotti and Murder Inc. Records from money laundering charges in 2005.

Speaking on represeting Jimmy Henchman, Gerald Shargel said this is his type of case and he is honored to be defending Henchman. Shargel is honored to represent Henchman, but the mogul is facing 30 years of prison, based simply off the gun charges. For heading up the cocaine ring, Jimmy Henchman is facing a life sentence in prison. Assistant US Attorney, Todd Kaminsky, showed how Henchman used music crates to ship cocaine across the United States.

Interscope Records was also under investigation, as it was assumed Jimmy Henchman was running his organization through their Los Angeles offices. However, last week, Interscope Records was cleared from the investigation. Jimmy Iovine discussed the matter, saying Interscope Records has never had any type of ties to organized crime. While Jimmy Iovine is free from the investigation, other members of Henchman's organization have been revealed, such as his brother Kesnar Rosemond.

Jimmy Henchman worked with a number of businesses, including an unnamed New York City car dealership. He was also suspected of shipping his products through Rock-It Cargo, with them being a knowing partner. There are also a number of FedEx accounts that have been opened in Jimmy Henchman's name. While Jimmy Henchman continues to fight for his innocence, his brother, Kesnar, has pled guilty and is cooperating with the law enforcement.

Red Cafe to release Bad Boy debut on Valentine's Day 2012

Two years ago, Diddy said there would be some major changes coming to Bad Boy Records. For years, Bad Boy Records had been distributed by Atlantic Records. The Atlantic years were among the roughest in Bad Boy history.

Diddy announced Bad Boy Records would be entering a new distribution deal with Interscope Records. However, the current artists signed to Bad Boy through Atlantic would stay with Atlantic. All new artists would be signed to Bad Boy through Interscope.

During the spring of 2009, Diddy announced Red Cafe had signed with Bad Boy. He also said he would have a renewed focus on his record label. Red Cafe was going to be the new flagship artist of the label and he was the only artist shifted to Interscope Records.

Over the past two years, Bad Boy Records has moved fully to Interscope Records. Red Cafe has been on the mixtape scene for years, including his years with Bad Boy Records. Now, though Red Cafe and Diddy have discussed his future with Bad Boy. Red Cafe said Diddy is finally ready to market him and his long-awaited debut album will be released on February 14, 2011.

Red Cafe said he wanted to pick a release date everyone would remember.

Wale goes R&B on "Ambition" album

Following his short time at Interscope Records, Wale decided to leave the label. Rick Ross said he was considering signing Wale to his own Maybach Music label. Not many people took Rick Ross' comments seriously. But, in only a matter of months, Wale became the latest addition to Maybach Music.

Maybach Music, itself, was angling to be signed. After adding a large number of artists to the label, a bidding war took place. Several labels lined up to add Maybach Music to their roster. Birdman made the premature announcement of adding Maybach Music to his already-large, Cash Money Records.

In the end, Rick Ross decided to do business with Warner Bros. and released the label's first album in May. Now, Wale is preparing his second album, Ambition. Coming in less than a month, Wale is working with a number of artists on his new album. Most of these artists are R&B artists, as Wale wants more soul on his new album.

While the "Ambition" track features his Maybach Music label-mates, Rick Ross and Meek Mill, the album features appearances from Ne-Yo, Lloyd, and Miguel. Former rival, Kid Cudi will also be featured on the new album.

Havoc discusses turning G-Unit Records down

In 2005, Mobb Deep signed with G-Unit Records, only months after hanging out with Game. Upon signing with G-Unit, the duo inherited G-Unit's feud with Game. Before the end of the year, they appeared on 50 Cent's "Outta Control (remix)." In the video, Mobb Deep donned the "Game Over" t-shirts.

Despite the fast start with G-Unit, being featured on a top ten hit with the label, they quickly fell off. Mobb Deep released one album through the label, Blood Money, which flopped. In the time since then, Prodigy has had a stint in prison. During that time, Interscope Records forced 50 Cent to drop the duo.

Last year, 50 Cent terminated G-Unit's deal with Interscope and has signed a number of artists. When Prodigy came out of prison, he said Mobb Deep may return to G-Unit. Recently, however, it was revealed the duo would sign a distribution deal with RED Distribution. The duo is preparing to release an EP before the end of this year.

With a new deal in place and new music on the way, Havoc took the time to explain why Mobb Deep ultimately decided not to return to G-Unit Records. After talking to 50 Cent, Havoc said Mobb Deep is still cool with 50 Cent. However, at this stage in their career, they need to have full creative control. At G-Unit, they would have freedom, but not the freedom they need. Because of this, Mobb Deep has decided to solely focus on Infamous Records, thus landing the distribution deal with RED.

Due to problems with Interscope Records, 50 Cent said he had no idea when his album was coming out. Initially, a supporter of being with a major label, 50 now wants to go independent. Not only has 50 Cent had problems with his label, he has also had problems with Dr. Dre.

At the start of the year, 50 Cent announced he had beef with Dr. Dre. Their beef supposedly stemmed from 50's headphone line. Dr. Dre was the originator of headphone lines, with Beats by Dre. 50 Cent claimed Dr. Dre was furious with him. Dr. Dre denied even knowing about his line.

The issues between 50 Cent and Dr. Dre were resolved before the start of summer. Still, Dr. Dre produced the bulk of Game's The R.E.D. Album. 50 Cent says he will receive the same treatment on his album. With their feud over, 50 Cent said his new album will have a number of tracks produced by Dr. Dre. Even though he is having issues with his label, 50 Cent also announced his album will be released by November. Dr. Dre is to produce two tracks on the album.

Interscope Records speaks on Jimmy Henchman rumors

Interscope Records is no stranger to controversy. When the label was founded, they struggled to gain footing. It was not until they began distributing Death Row Records when they began experiencing tremendous success. This success came at a price, as Death Row was the most-controversial record label in history.

Because of their affiliation with Death Row, Interscope Records lost its own distribution with Atlantic Records. For a short period of time, the label was distributed by Priority Records. However, for the past fourteen years, Interscope Records has had a home as the integral part of Interscope-Geffen-A&M of the Universal Music Group.

Over the years, Interscope Records has branched out from simply hip hop to various genres. Among the biggest artists signed to the label, however, is Game. Throughout his career, Game has been managed by James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond. This summer, Rosemond was brought up on drug charges, running a nationwide cocaine ring.

Jimmy Henchman has had close ties with Interscope Records, and a number of their artists, for a number of years. Recently, more of Henchman's organization was exposed and it was revealed he was running his operation through the offices of Interscope Records. The United States Attorney Office cleared Interscope, their parent company, UMG, and their employees of any involvement in Henchman's drug ring. While the case with Henchman will continue, Interscope Records will not face any investigation.

Last year, Cam'ron and Jim Jones ended their feud of three years. When the former partners reunited, the team did, too. During their feud, the original members of the Diplomats sided with Jim Jones. On the other hand, Cam'ron had to start another crew.

For over a year, the Diplomats have been back together. The new members have also fit in very well with each other. Interscope Records had noticed the Diplomats and they signed them to their label. Dr. Dre and Eminem will be workin with them.

Despite having a new label deal with Interscope Records, Dr. Dre and Eminem ready to produce records, and significant buzz, no official album has come from the Diplomats. Jim Jones, the capo of Diplomat Records explained the delays. While Diplomat Records and their group, the Diplomats, have signed the new deal with Interscope Records, many of the individual artists have not. However, all of them want to make the move over to Interscope Records.

Once all of the artists are out of their deals, with their various labels, they will sign to Diplomat/Interscope and will begin putting the new Diplomats album together.

Jimmy Henchman used Interscope Records' office to Ship Cocaine

Earlier this year, James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond made headlines when he was accused of heading a major cocaine ring. Rosemond had built a reputation as an astute businessman. According to several reports, this was all a front for his illegal businesses.

First, Jimmy Henchman was brought up on drug charges, and later more accusations came. Dexter Isaac claimed to be an employee of Henchman. Isaac said he was paid $2,500 to rob Tupac Shakur in 1994. When the robbery went wrong, he ended up shooting the rapper.

Henchman was out of the public eye, but denied the charges and Isaac's claims through his lawyer. Following a month of being chased, Jimmy Henchman was caught and arrested in New York City. Currently, the CEO of Czar Entertainment is awaiting trial. As if the case was not bad enough, more information has been leaked about the Haitian businessman.

Shipping records now have found "pickups and deliveries" made at the Interscope offices in Los Angeles. In what was disguised as music cases were kilos of cocaine and over $1 million in cash. Currently, the mogul is being held, without bail, at the Manhattan Correctional Facility and is facing 18 felony charges. Those charges could result in a life sentence in prison.

"Jersey Shore" star, DJ Pauly D, was the latest talent to sign to G-Unit Records. 50 Cent is determined to bring his label back to the forefront. Following a rough situation with Interscope Records, 50 Cent is now independent.

DJ Pauly D recently revealed he signed a three-album deal with G-Unit Records. Already, Pauly D is working on the first of those three albums. His first G-Unit album will be a collaborative with 50 Cent. Focused on his own comeback, 50 Cent is trying to reach new listeners.

When describing the album, DJ Pauly D said they are drawing from DJ Khaled and David Guetta. Despite the inspiration, DJ Pauly D announced it would all be his own style.

Game releasing "The Making of Game's 'The R.E.D. Album'" Book

After two years of waiting, The R.E.D. Album is finally here and among the best albums of 2011. Game went through a number of career-changing moves from 2009 to 2011. The fans waited patiently, as he reunited with Dr. Dre and made more hits.

Now, back on top of the game, Game is working on yet another album. It was revealed, before The R.E.D. Album, Game owed two more albums to Interscope Records. Game will likely head over to Cash Money Records after leaving Interscope.

Outside of rap, Game is venturing over to publishing. Game has teamed up with Soren Baker for a book titled The Making of Game's 'The R.E.D. Album.' The book will detail the process Game went through putting the new album together.

The book will be available on Amazon.com and is also coming soon to iTunes, along with a paperback release of the book coming. In the book, there are discussions about Game, as he worked with Dr. Dre and Pharrell.

Wale explains Maybach shift, talks Jay-Z

Wale already knew Rick Ross and decided to sign with him. He said despite the things people say about Rick Ross, he is actually very smart. Having seen him work the business side of things, Wale said it was a no-brainer to sign to Maybach Music.

In his short time with Maybach Music, Wale has received more recognition than he did after spending nearly a year with Interscope Records. After a talk with Jay-Z, his manager, Wale was convinced to sign with Ross' label. Jay-Z pointed out how much buzz Gunplay, a Maybach Music artist, was getting on the underground and Wale soon paid attention. It was those words that led to Wale signing with MM.

In 2010, 50 Cent began working on this "final album." It was during this time when 50 was rumored to be well on his way to Def Jam. While a deal with Def Jam was not established, 50 Cent did align G-Unit Records with EMI and Lloyd Banks released his latest album through them.

50 Cent announced he would be a free agent following the release of his next album. Tired of the label politics, 50 said he was ready to just release the new project. 50 Cent has plans of releasing several singles before the release of the album. 50 admitted he was upset with the way his single, "I'm On It," was handled by Interscope Records.

With this new album, 50 Cent said he has recorded over two album's worth of material.

Mars talks Game's "R.E.D." follow-up

With The R.E.D. Album completed, Game is already recording his next album. Having missed three years, Game is ready to put his next album together. Game owes Interscope Records one more album, following The R.E.D. Album.

On this new album, Game has teamed up with Mars, a member of 1500 or Nothin'. Mars said Game will be taking a different approach on his latest album. On his final Interscope album, Game will not have any guest appearances and he will not name-drop. Game has built his career off name-dropping several of the celebrities in the game.

Speaking with MTV's Mixtape Daily, Mars said he and Game had already recorded two songs for the album. While Game has been met with mostly-positive reviews, many have complained of him name-dropping a little too much. However, Mars promised fans would have no reason to complain about Game's latest album. Mars is credited as an executive producer on Game's current album, The R.E.D. Album, which will be released tomorrow.
