By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Following years of stagnation, hip hop has finally received a new influx of artists. Many of these new talents come from the West Coast. The most-controversial crew from the West Coast is Odd Future. Them being the most-controversial talent out West says a lot with fellow newcomer, Lil B, naming his album, I'm Gay.

Regardless of the controversy, Tony Yayo has collaborated with Lil B in the past and is now working with Odd Future. Tony Yayo was ushered into the game, following a 2003 wave by 50 Cent. Also the member of a controversial crew, Tony Yayo has no issues working with Odd Future.

Currently, Tony Yayo is in the studio with Hodgy Beats and Left Brain, which make up Mellow Hype. Their collaboration has yet to be named.

Jimmy Henchmen associate charged with Death of G-Unit affiliate

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

The empire of James "Jimmy Henchmen" Rosemond is crumbling at a rapid rate. Having been in the hip hop industry for over twenty years, Rosemond was also a major crime figure. While he has had some scrapes with the law, no evidence turned up on him until May of 2011.

It was revealed his management and film companies were actually fronts for his cocaine empire. The DEA has been investigating his operation and there is a warrant for his arrest. Rosemond is denying all the allegations and demanded the charges be dropped.

Earlier this week, a former Henchmen employee said he shot Tupac Shakur in 1994. Rosemond wanting jewelry off Shakur led to the East Coast/West Coast feud. But, through his lawyer, Rosemond denied the statement, saying the only reason Dexter Isaac confessed was because he did not want to spend the rest of his life in prison.

Now, Rosemond is under even more media scrutiny. For years, Jimmy Henchmen has had issues with hip hop's tough guy, 50 Cent and his G-Unit Records. In 2007, Tony Yayo and Lowell Fletcher, an affiliate of the label, got into an altercation with Rosemond's then-fourteen year old son. Following the altercation, which has been denied ever happening by Rosemond, Fletcher was killed upon his 2009 prison release. Two men have been arrested for this murder and both are tied to Rosemond.

Brian McCleod and Rodney Johnson confessed to killing Fletcher. Johnson has been charged with plotting with conspirators to orchestrate a homicide. Prosecutors feel as if Johnson hired McCleod and others to finish off Lowell Fletcher. The duo are also facing charges surrounding drug trafficking and are believed to be a part of Rosemond's drug ring.

Tony Yayo discusses Nicki Minaj's "Tragedy"

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Last week, an announcement was made, saying the feud between female rappers, Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj was over. Nicki is currently touring with Lil Wayne. Meanwhile, Lil' Kim is searching for a new label to release her next album. For over six months, the ladies have been trading disses.

But, after six months of disses, a news story said the women held a private meeting and ended their feud. Reports also said they had much respect for each other and their music. Not even one day following the announcement, Nicki Minaj released "Tragedy." The song disses each stage of Lil' Kim's career.

Tony Yayo, a member of G-Unit, is very familiar with beefs, as his crew has gone at many foes, including Lil' Kim. While avoiding adding his own diss, Yayo tweeted Minaj's "Tragedy." Keeping his reaction short, Tony Yayo said the song was "crazy." The song is rumored to be a part of a song which will be featured on Tha Carter IV.

50 Cent disses Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Over the course of his career, 50 Cent has built a persona as a jokester and a bully. For 50, he has had no issues calling out the biggest celebrities and even members of his own crew. G-Unit had become a major force by 2005 and Game was the biggest star, outside of 50, himself.

But, as Game became more and more distant, 50 Cent called him out and the feud started. After being disrespected one time too many, 50 Cent announced Game was no longer a part of G-Unit. In the time since then, 50 Cent has also had issues with G-Unit's other addition, Young Buck.

By 2009, G-Unit had hit rock bottom. 50 Cent's album was a complete flop and Interscope Records had stopped promoting his music. Lloyd Banks took it upon himself to record a number of hits, which became his H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More) album. The hits from that album helped G-Unit rebuild its fan base.

Tony Yayo has remained one of the most-loyal members of the G-Unit label. Still, this did not stop 50 Cent from recording a new song, in which he says "fuck Banks, fuck Yayo, fuck the group." The song was released yesterday, April Fool's Day and 50 Cent is a known prankster. However, 50 Cent is also known for calling out the members of G-Unit when they do not act the way 50 Cent feels they should act.

Game says "The R.E.D. Album" could feature anyone except 50 Cent and Jay-Z

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Six years ago, Game was the hottest new artist in the game and he was waving the G-Unit flag high. But, behind the scenes, beef was brewing between Game and 50 Cent. Soon, the two rappers made their feud known and the gloves came off.

Game has spent most of his career dissing 50 Cent. Outside of his feud with 50 Cent, Game has also had issues with Jay-Z. Even on his debut album, which featured production from Kanye West, Game was challenging Jay-Z.

There have been many times in his career when Game has offered truces to 50 Cent and Jay-Z. When 50 Cent decided to re-start his feud, Game offered to take Jay-Z's side. But, the feud never materialized, and Game returned to his beef.

With his long-awaited The R.E.D. Album, on the way, Game has worked with some of everyone. Game said to expect to hear from almost anyone in the game. But, there is an exception of the artists he will be working with. Game said not to expect a collaboration from either 50 Cent or Jay-Z. Late last year, Game offered to reunite with G-Unit, but Tony Yayo laughed him off.

Game hits up 50 Cent on Twitter for G-Unit Reunion

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Five years ago, Game released his debut album and single-handedly put the West Coast back on. The main reason he was receiving radio play was due to his affiliation with 50 Cent and G-Unit Records. But, as the promotion for his album began, Game and 50 Cent began beefing.

After a failed reconciliation, Game decided it would be best for him to leave G-Unit. Once he declared his beef with G-Unit and left, 50 Cent forced Dr. Dre to kick him off Aftermath too, leaving Game all the way out. With nowhere to turn, Game started his own label.

Now independent, Game not only continued to make good music, he also became 50 Cent's top rival. Last year, Game said he was finally over what happened and he was back to simply making music. As he finished The R.E.D. Album, Snoop Dogg was able to reunite him with Dr. Dre, which led to Game returning to Aftermath right as 50 Cent prepared to leave the label.

With 50 Cent now calling EMI Records home and Game being in need of new music, the Compton rapper took matters into his own hands. Via Twitter, Game told 50 Cent he no longer had any issues with him and he was ready to do work. Game said he would also get Young Buck on the phone if he would call up the original G-Unit members, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. Upon receiving the tweets, 50 Cent replied that he does not have any way to call Game because they do not communicate.

There is a possibility of Game and Young Buck returning to G-Unit sometime in the near future.

50 Cent is the New Director for G-Unit videos

The days of videos directed by Hype Williams and Benny Boom are long gone for G-Unit Records. The days of having their records distributed by Interscope Records are also long gone. 50 Cent had a falling out with Jimmy Iovine, the head of Interscope, and he promised to leave after the release of his fourth album. Many were hoping that a truce could be made, but 50 Cent left.

Not only does G-Unit Records find themselves without a distributing label, but they also lost their financial backbone. Everything that they put out, from this point on, is coming out of their pocket. Luckily for the crew, 50 Cent is one of the most-savvy businessmen in the hip hop game. He has built his career out of saving money and the money saved while at Interscope is probably enough to hold G-Unit over.

50 Cent made a promise to his fans that G-Unit would continue to go strong even without Interscope behind them. As soon as he cut his ties with the label, he told Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks to prepare their new albums. Before the end of the summer, both rappers hope to have released their albums and they are working on the singles before the summer starts. In the past, 50 Cent would recruit high-profile video directors for the G-Unit videos. Realizing the limitations of G-Unit, 50 has stepped up to direct the new videos from G-Unit.

Tony Yayo will be the first G-Unit artist to release an independent artist. His album will be followed by the third album from Lloyd Banks, The Hunger for More 2. 50 Cent will release Black Magic sometime during the fourth quarter of 2010.

Tony Yayo wants to Be In a New 50 Cent movie

Despite struggling with his music, as of late, 50 Cent has been doing extremely well with his new film ventures. Lately, he has not only been starring in new independent films, he is also producing them. After the failure of G-Unit Films, 50 Cent created a new company, Cheetah Productions, and they are behind a lot of new films. Two of the films are starring 50 Cent. He has moved into the film venture for a short period of time, before he decides where to move G-Unit Records.

While 50 Cent has a way to keep his name in the public eye, outside of music, Tony Yayo does not. Outside of 50 Cent, Yayo was the first artist signed to G-Unit Records. But, because of his time behind bars, he was rather quiet during their run on the top. He did not release his album until the crew was beginning to fall off. Because of that, he has been the least-successful rapper on the label and he did not receive proper treatment from Interscope Records.

Feeling mistreated by Interscope, Yayo would leave the label and the rest of G-Unit would not be too far behind him. Tony Yayo is very happy to be off of Interscope Records, but he would love to have a way to reach the public. Ever since 2003, he has been a fixture on the mixtape scene, but Yayo wants something that would expose him to the mainstream audience. He feels that the perfect way for this to happen is for him to star in one of the new 50 Cent films. As long as he has been in the game, he could always count on 50 Cent to look out for him. Because of this, Tony Yayo has reached out to his boss to see if he could land a role in some of his new films.
