Lupe Fiasco hates the Internet

Record labels have been helped and hurt by the internet with the new technology. But, for artists, it has been an easy way to connect with the rest of the world. Such sites as ReverbNation have helped many rappers and singers build international buzz.
But, for established artists, the internet can hurt more than it helps because they are known. Several websites covering hip hop have launched over the years, such as Hip Hop Vibe. Many of these sites call it how they see it, some even bash artists.
With hip hop geared towards party music, Lupe Fiasco is usually criticized for being intellectual. Lupe Fiasco feels hip hop sites do more harm than good for artists. At times, Lupe says he wishes the internet did not exist.
Instead of promoting his music, the Chicago rapper is usually caught up reading what the hip hop sites have said about him. Read more...
Ghostface Killah helps inspire New Beer

A new beer from Colorado has dubbed itself the "Ghostface Killah" beer. The beer is made by a company named Twisted Pine. Already, the beer has been nicknamed as the hottest beer this side of hell.
A representive from Twisted Pine said they reached out to Ghostface about being a part of the promotion. However, they were not able to get in contact with the rapper. Twisted Pine would have liked to enter a partnership with Ghostface.
Not only was the beer inspired by Ghostface Killah the rapper, but also the movie character. Mystery of Chessboxing is the film which has given life to the rapper and the beer. Read more...
Freddie Gibbs questions Bin Laden's death

While most of America was getting ready for bed last night, the military and the CIA were on the cusp of something major. For well over twenty years, Osama Bin Laden has been a threat to the well-being of the American people. Ten years ago, on September 11, 2001, he led an attack that killed 3,000 people.
For the past ten years, the United States has been trying to locate the international fugitive. Bin Laden covered his tracks very well, as he hid behind being an international businessman. In the quest for Bin Laden, wars have been created in Iraq, which have yet to cease. Now, several stories reported Osama Bin Laden is dead.
Freddie Gibbs, like many other American citizens, is a little skeptical about this. Gibbs thinks this could be a plot by the government to trick the people into thinking Bin Laden is dead. To this day, there are still people who believe Saddam Hussein is still alive. The Indiana rapper also scolded those who have been celebrating the supposed death of this man.
The way Freddie Gibbs sees things, he doubts Bin Laden even had anything to do with 9/11. He said it is likely the United States may have killed a stunt double of Osama Bin Laden. Gibbs said the government has many secrets and they often tell the citizens what they want to hear. After ten years of direct threat, it comes in well to have stories reported of Osama Bin Laden being dead. While he does not believe Bin Laden is indeed deceased, Freddie Gibbs sympathizes with President Obama, understanding how difficult his job must be. Read more...

Wiz Khalifa deads Kanye West beef rumors

Recently, there were rumors Wiz Khalifa almost rolled up on Kanye West. Wiz Khalifa has been dating West's ex, Amber Rose, for nearly six months. When the two first hooked up, it seemed like a publicity stunt, but the two appear to be in love.
Last week, Kanye West performed at the Coachella Festival in Los Angeles and made a disparging remark. Rose was on the stage as he was performing, as Khalifa was up next. Performing "Stronger," West called Rose a "blonde dyke."
Following the comment, stories reported Wiz Khalifa rushed the stage and he and Kanye West almost fought. The story was denied by Amber Rose. She said it was only a rumor and Wiz Khalifa recently spoke about the situation.
Wiz Khalifa said Amber Rose is doing her own thing, he is doing his own thing, and Kanye West is doing his own thing. There is not any animosity between any of the parties involved and all three of them would like to put the situation in the past. Not only did Wiz Khalifa say the rumors are false, he also said he did not even have the opportunity to meet Kanye West at the event. Read more...
