Following an eight-year hiatus, Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch began recording a new L.O.X. album. In 2007, Jadakiss and Styles P started recording new solo albums. Styles P released his album late in the year, while Jadakiss was pushed back. Sheek Louch would release his album in 2008.

At the time, The L.O.X. were signed to Interscope Records and hoping to land with a new label. Despite their feud with 50 Cent being over, they wanted a fresh start. Still, they promised fans their album would soon be released. In 2009, the group expressed interest of reuniting with Diddy and Bad Boy Records.

However, after seeing how secure Jadakiss' deal with Def Jam was, the group decided to sign there. But, with Def Jam currently rebuilding their roster, it has been hard to land a release date. The year of 2010 was filled with chaos from Def Jam with all of the G-Unit rumors. In the end, the only high-profile released from the label were Ne-Yo and Kanye West.

It is now approaching four years since The L.O.X. announced they were working on a new album. The album has still yet to come and the group is not happy about it. Sheek Louch said it is time for them to come out with something. The people have been waiting entirely too long and they owe it to their loyal fans to give them something besides a mixtape. While he would love for them to release their new album in 2011, Sheek does not want to make a promise that he cannot keep.
