Ja Rule may take R&B route on New Album
It has been six years since Ja Rule's last album and this time around, he plans to do things big. His album was supposed to have come three years ago, but label politics got in the way of that. So, another three year wait has given birth to what will become Venni Vetti Vecci 2010. There has been some talks about this album, but no one has gone into much detail.
Initially, it was assumed that Ja Rule would go hardcore for this album. The first confirmed guest on the album was DMX, so many assumed that this album would be much like his debut. However, when the first single was released, it seemed as if Ja Rule decided to take the more traditional route. Last week, Rule released the lead single, "Icredible" featuring R. Kelly. The song has a nice sound and it seems posied to take the charts.
Recently, Ja Rule has also been working outside of the music industry. Before he was forced into going hardcore, Rule had planned to retire from rapping and go on to do big-budget movies. Those dreams were ended when 50 Cent took Ja Rule from being an A-list star to a G-list star. Now, Ja makes cameo appearances in big name movies and stars in low-budget movies. Even though these films go straight-to-DVD, the money is still pretty good and Ja Rule is not the only star doing this.
Around the time when Ja Rule was dominating the rap game, Omarion was dominating the R&B game, along with his group, B2K. Currently, both Ja Rule and Omarion are starring in a new straight-to-DVD film, Wrong Side of Town. Usually, when two music stars work together in a film, that usually ends up with them recording music together. With rumors of Ray J joining Murder Inc., there is also a possibility that he may end up working with Ja Rule on this new album. R. Kelly has already been confirmed and Ja has not ruled out the possibility of working with former labelmate, Lloyd.
Ja Rule plans to release Venni Vetti Vecci 2010 on Mpire Records and Murder Inc. Records in June 2010.
