What if Tupac Shakur had never Died: Dr. Dre

When Tupac Shakur first arrived at Death Row Records, Dr. Dre was on his way out. But, the chance to work with an artist as talented as Tupac convinced Dr. Dre to stay on board. Right off of the bat, there was a chemistry between Tupac and Dr. Dre that could not be denied. The deep voice of Tupac over those hard-hitting Dr. Dre beats made everyone want to be on Death Row. Despite not being an original member of Death Row, Tupac would become the most loyal soldier, so when Dr. Dre left the label, it was personal.

In the months before his death, Tupac Shakur had turned on his former collaborator. He was highly upset with Dr. Dre and he had plans of ending his career. While Dr. Dre is considered a legend now, back then, he was just another hip hop producer. There was still a chance of his career being ended. Just imagine if Tupac had survived those shots in Las Vegas. Among the people he may have blamed for them could have been Dr. Dre.

After Tupac Shakur's death and later the death of The Notorious B.I.G., the hip hop community came together. It was then that Dr. Dre reached out to the family of Shakur and they took him in. In the time since his death, Dr. Dre has capitalized off of Tupac's music. People assume that they were on good terms before his death, but that was not the case. Had Tupac been alive, Dr. Dre may not be the Dr. Dre that the world currently sees. In 1996, Dr. Dre created Aftermath Entertainment and he signed Eminem. With the way that Tupac felt about Dr. Dre, he would have gone at every artist on Aftermath and ruined Dr. Dre's credibility so that no rapper would have worked with him.

If Tupac Shakur were still alive, Dr. Dre would not have had the rights to rework his old music the way that he does. While he was a very generous man, he was not forgiving. More than anything, Tupac hated disloyalty and Dr. Dre leaving Aftermath Entertainment was direct disloyalty. At the time, Tupac was the biggest rapper on the planet, so his word was the law. All that he had to do was say that Dr. Dre was no longer cool and there would not be a Dr. Dre or Aftermath.
