There has been a lot of talk about Wiz Khalifa over the past few years. Representing Pittsburgh, Wiz wanted to do it big for his hometown. While several famous rappers have come from the other major city in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, no successful rappers have come from Pittsburgh.

Wiz Khalifa sought to change this as he elevated from being a mixtape rapper to a major player in 2010. He first organized his national tour, Waken Baken, and got the people ready for his debut album due next year. There have been other breakthrough artists this year, but Wiz Khalifa took the cake.

Often phrase often used by true artists is that anyone could put together an album, but it takes a strong person to go out and tour. Before putting an album out, Wiz Khalifa went out and did the tour. Due to the fact that Wiz Khalifa went out and put together a successful national tour and posted a hit single with "Black and Yellow" has earned him the honor of being Hip Hop Vibe's Rookie of the Year.

Next year, Wiz Khalifa plans to release his debut album on Atlantic Records.
