Eight years ago, A-Thug decided to take his career into his own hands and he released his debut album. The album was not noticed by the media, but it was highly successful. Unlike other rappers with major label deals, all of the money made went straight to A-Thug and he quickly expanded.
His 2003 debut album was the first release off his brand new record label, Black Rolling Stones Ent. Following his 2003 debut, A-Thug began releasing more solo albums. After he established himself as one of the top independent artists in the game, A-Thug signed more artists to his label.
By 2006, A-Thug was three albums deep and had a full roster of talent on the Black Rolling Stones label. Soon, A-Thug added a clothing line to his business portfolio. Two years later, A-Thug launched Megastar Films and he began producing Megastar DVD, which has since become a major success in New York City and also has a strong following outside of the city, as well.
Everything has been peaking for A-Thug since 2009 and recently he discovered he would be reaching yet another peak. The Harlem rapper was a part of Reciprority Foundation's "Invisible: the Diaries of New York's Homeless Youth." Released to local news stations in New York, the documentary touched many of those who watched it. A-Thug's segment really hit many people hard and now he has a chance to accomplish one of his goals because of his participation.
The man who has sold his music on the streets will soon be at the Emmy Awards. The "Invisible" documentary has been nominated and A-Thug is estatic. If the documentary wins an award, A-Thug can boast about winning an Emmy. Even if things do not turn out as planned, A-Thug can always boast about being nominated for an Emmy. This is something most major label artists could not even pull off and he is doing this with local partnerships.
