Wale plans to release Two Albums either This Year or Next Year

In 2009, Wale released his debut album to positive reviews. He had planned to release another album in 2010. But, a proposal from Rick Ross put those plans on hold. When Wale decided to sign with Maybach Music, his label deal had to be restructured.

During the downtime, Wale went into the studio and recorded new music. His plan was to simply put together his sophomore album. But, soon Rick Ross had him recording verses for the compilation album for Maybach Music.

Now, Wale is completely done with all of his music. He has enough verses for Self Made, his sophomore album, and a third album. Wale wants to release his next two albums in the same year.

If Wale does not land a 2011 release date for one of his albums, both will be pushed back to 2012 to make sure the albums are released during the same calendar year.
