On a daily basis, 50 Cent continues to prove he is one of the sharper businessmen in the hip hop industry. When he is not landing multi-million dollar deals, he is making big signings. During his most-recent down time, 50 Cent was able to sign Shawty Lo to G-Unit Records.

The Atlanta rapper said he would likely sign to G-Unit earlier in the month. Last week, Shawty Lo announced he was the newest member of G-Unit Records. A few days later, Shawty Lo said he signed a unique deal with the label, a deal for his D4L imprint.

Now, 50 Cent has broken his silence on the signing. He said he has had an idea for some time. The idea is called 50's new 50/50 and the first signing was Shawty Lo. 50 Cent said Shawty Lo's D4L label will now be powered by G-Unit Records.

Under the terms of this deal, G-Unit Records will handle all of D4L's promotion and, after recouping their investment in promotion, will split profits evenly with D4L Records. 50 Cent went on to say Shawty Lo signed the deal of a hustler and announced D4L was currently signing artists. The G-Unit general went on to encourage artists to sign with D4L Records.
