50 Cent talks New Album and "Detox"

For years, 50 Cent has had trouble with Interscope Records. His first two albums made records in sales, not seen in decades. But, during the promotion of his third album, 50 Cent felt as if the label dropped the ball. When Interscope shelved his fourth album, 50 said he would leave the label when his contract was up.

It was during the promotion of Before I Self Destruct when 50 Cent first called Dr. Dre out, publicly. Before things got better between the two, things got worse. While their beef over the headphone line has been squashed, 50 Cent still has to battle his label, at least one more time.

50 Cent said Interscope Records needs his album to be a success more than he does. Because he is one of the bigger artists signed to the label, they will need him to sell well. If the bigger artists are not doing well, Interscope Records will have a hard time attracting new artists to the label. With both 50 Cent and Dr. Dre releasing albums this year, 50 feels they need to promote these albums as hard as possible.

With two successful releases from Eminem, already, 50 Cent believes they need to do the same type of marketing for the releases from he and Dr. Dre. 50 Cent said his next album will be released towards the end of the year, in November.
