Pill talks about His Rap Name

From the beginning of hip hop, to the present day, the theme is about being different from everyone else. With the commercialization of hip hop, many artists are simply imitating other acts. But, in recent years, crews like Young Money and Maybach Music are bringing individuals back to hip hop.

Maybach Music is one of the hottest new movements in hip hop and one of the new members is Pill. Representing Atlanta, Pill has one of the oddest names in hip hop. Many have questioned why he has such an unorthodox name. Despite the image some rappers have portrayed, the name of Pill comes from something different.

Pill said his rap moniker comes from his days playing high school football. After having a monster game, when he played JV football, the people began calling him Pill Pill. But, when he started taking rap music seriously, he shortened his name to Pill. Now, the moniker stands for Pill, as in the pill curing the rap game.
