The biggest news of the summer has been Shawty Lo joining forces with 50 Cent at G-Unit. Musically, 50 Cent has been struggling to release his new album. However, on the business side of things, 50 Cent has been dominant.
When 50 Cent managed to sign Shawty Lo and the entire roster of D4L Records, it was a power move. In the weeks since the signing, Shawty Lo and 50 Cent have made many appearances together.
Shawty Lo said he and 50 Cent's connection is deeper than rap and business. Their backgrounds are very similar, with the exception of one taking place in Atlanta, and the other in New York City.
Explaining his background, Shawty Lo said he and 50 Cent are cut from the same type of cloth. Shawty Lo also promised he would not become another one hit wonder under the G-Unit umbrella.
