Is Facebook taking things Too Far?

MySpace revolutionized social networking nearly a decade ago. Often, MySpace would top the list as one of the top, overall, websites. But, in 2008, Facebook began to take off, with more and more members. Before the end of 2009, almost all people had Facebook accounts.

Facebook earned points with the people because it was simple, as opposed to MySpace, which went over the top. In today's society, people like simple things. Until recently, Facebook was simple. The site was much neater than MySpace and it was easier to connect with friends.

All of a sudden, this will no longer be possible, as Facebook is doing away with the profiles. The founder of the popular social networking site, Mark Zuckerberg, says the people will love this, in the long run. But, for the artists who have created personal profiles and fan pages, they enjoyed the simplicity of the site. Now, more people are seeing Facebook go away from what made them popular, in the first place. MySpace similarly made several changes at once and people jumped ship to Facebook.

Following their success, several new social networking sites emerged. Now, with Facebook "doing too much," as several have said, will one of these new sites take off?
