With Prodigy in prison for three years, Mobb Deep fell out of the public eye. Given their legacy, they remained relevant, even after their 2006 album release. Now, with Prodigy released, Mobb Deep is back on track.
Aside from announcing solo albums, Prodigy also announced a new Mobb Deep album. Initially, the album was due in the summer of 2011. But, in future interviews, the album was slated to come before the end of 2012.
The year of 2011, regardless, will not go by without a new release from Mobb Deep. Recently, Havoc announced the duo would be releasing an EP on Black Friday.
While the two have not come up with a title for the album, they have recorded eight songs. The duo has worked with The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Alchemist, and Young Free. More than likely, the new EP will be the first Mobb Deep release with RED Distribution.
