Recently completing his album, Rolling Stoned, Smoke DZA spoke with Hip Hop Wired about a number of topics. Smoke DZA said his latest album is about him having fun. Also speaking on collaborations, Smoke DZA said he has a unique mix.

Speaking on collaborations, Hip Hop Wired asked why Smoke DZA never works with fellow rappers from New York. Smoke DZA said he never works with other New York rappers is because they do not reach out to him. However, Smoke DZA said he is open to working with New York rappers.

Smoke DZA said New York is not trying to unite, the way the South has and the way the West Coast has been doing in recent months. Because of this, and their unwillingness to change, Smoke DZA has decided to work with artists from other regions. Even if he does not like the artist, Smoke DZA said he is willing to work with them. Due to all the competition in new York, Smoke DZA does not see New York hip hop moving forward.

Despite his persona as a "weed rapper," Smoke DZA said he hopes marijuana is never legalized. Smoke said if it is legalized, it will be watered down and mixed with other substances, thus making it synthetic weed.
