New York City has strict gun laws, which have gotten many celebrities in trouble. Among the celebrities who have gotten in trouble over guns in New York is Plaxico Burress, Lil Wayne, and Ja Rule, only naming a few. Now, Young Jeezy's head of security, Stephen Helin, can be added to the list.

Stephen Helin was facing a mandatory sentence of 3.5 years for violating New York gun laws. However, Helin was gotten off the hook by Young Jeezy's lawyer. Scott Leemon, Jeezy's lawyer, blamed the charge on the hip hop police. Claiming discrimination, he was able to get Helin off the hook.

Leemon said the police offered Stephen Helin, and the rest of the security team, a chance to plead guilty. The charge was fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. Because of the way they were charged, Scott Leemon was able to get the charges dropped. Young Jeezy is still working on new music and hopes to release his long-awaited Thug Motivation 103 album.
