In the days before Tha Carter IV was released, Lil Wayne made headlines for his "It's Good" song. Lil Wayne's verse seemingly took aim at Jay-Z over his "baby money" diss on "H.A.M." Ever since Jay-Z released The Blueprint 3, Birdman has been challenging him. Before this, however, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne had built a strong friendship.

Perhaps tired of the slick comments, Jay-Z fired back at Birdman when he spit the "baby money" line. Nearly nine months later, Lil Wayne responded to the comments, on wax. On the final verse of "It's Good," which also features Drake and Jadakiss, Lil Wayne disses both Jay-Z and Beyonce.

Lil Wayne has discussed the track two times. When he first spoke on the track, Wayne said he knew Jay-Z would not respond. In his most-recent response, Lil Wayne said a diss is not a diss until names are called. Despite the track being clearly aimed at Jay-Z, Lil Wayne said the people will never truly know who he was talking about, if anyone.

Jay-Z was recently asked about Lil Wayne's diss. Not wanting to speak on anything negative, Jay-Z played the diss off. Jay-Z said it was all about the sport and nothing that should even be newsworthy.
