Months after the release of Thank Me Later, Drake promised he would soon return with another album. This spring, Drake discussed his second album and said it would be called Take Care. During the summer, Drake announced he would release the album on October 24, his birthday.

Throughout the summer, Drake appeared on many of the top hits, but not much of his own music was released. "Marvin's Room" leaked during the spring. Towards the end of the summer, "Headlines," the first official single from Take Care, was leaked to the radio and internet. Recently, the album reached number one and fans have prepared for the album.

As he was preparing to make his rounds, Drake returned to Toronto to record the album. Back home, memories began flowing, as did lyrics. Drake said he had to push his album back to November 15 in order to fully express his thoughts and ideas on the new album. Having recaptured the feeling he had on his 2009 mixtape, So Far Gone, Drake decided he needed another month to release his new album.
