Tony Yayo will never be a Koch artist

50 Cent famously taunted Koch Records (now E1 Music) over three years ago. During that timeframe, a lot of rappers were leaving major record labels and going independent. 50 Cent was still promoting his third album, Curtis, so he was averaging 5.5 million copies per release. At the time, he could do no wrong in the eyes of Interscope Records. Because of this and his popularity, 50 Cent taunted independent artists.

The taunts from 50 Cent would come back to haunt him and his entire crew before the year was over. When 50 Cent released his next album, it flopped, and Tony Yayo's album was shelved. Despite all of this, 50 Cent and the rest of G-Unit remained on the Interscope label. But, the summer of 2009 proved to be too much, so Tony Yayo, along with Lloyd Banks left Interscope Records. After the low sales of his latest album, 50 Cent also had enough and left Interscope Records.

Now, there is no difference between 50 Cent, his crew, and the independent artists that they were making fun of only three years ago. With the entire G-Unit crew off of Interscope Records, it is up to 50 Cent to find another deal for the label. In an effort to save his chips, 50 Cent has announced that he will set up a deal with an independent record label. The most-notable independent record label is E1 Music (formerly Koch Records), the same label that 50 Cent infamously taunted.

Perhaps remembering the taunts that his boss made, Tony Yayo said that he will never be an artist on E1 Music. He said that he is confident that 50 Cent will find a better deal for him than one with Koch. There are other independent record labels out there and 50 Cent might sign an independent deal with a major label, similar to the deal that Cam'ron has with Asylum Records. Tony Yayo does plan to release a new album before the end of this year. One thing that can be confirmed is that the album will not be released on the Koch or Interscope labels.
