For the past fifteen years, Ice Cube has been seen more in the movie theaters than in music videos. While he still does record albums from time-to-time, Cube's focus is on the movies. Ice Cube has made history as a former gangsta rapper who made it big on the big screen.

His true break came when his Friday film was turned into a franchise. The 1995 film became a cult favorite and led to two more films, Next Friday and Friday After Next coming. There have been rumors of a fourth Friday, but one has yet to come. But, he has completed First Sunday.

Currently, Ice Cube is working on a drama film, Rampart. In the film, Cube will play a detective who is investigating a crooked cop on the LAPD. Ice Cube has teamed up with Three Kings director, David O. Russell, and they are talking with New Line about possibly creating a new film franchise. Cube is marketable and has already had a successful film series.
